depends on how they can become legal. persoanlly, I don't thibk it is particuarly imnportant. all it means is that people that have been ibn the US ( even legally) THAT HAS PAID INTO SOCIAL SECURITY can pool their credits wiht the credits for the mexica scheme. by the way, the only way they would get credit for the illegal years would be if they paid up for those years.

As a man who voted for Bush twice, I am disappointed on this issue!!
Bush promised to curb illegal immigration, or at least try. . . .and he has done nothing!! I know we are fighting a war that takes precedence, but a secure border is vital to national security!!!
As a Californian born and raised, I have seen the growth as well as the problems as a result of illegals in my state! It is out of control!!! and that is putting it mildly. . . . To let these people from overwhelmingly Mexico take OUR social security money is ABSURD!! CLOSE THE BORDER NOW!! And close the bullshit loopholes that would wreck an already faltering social security program.
