So far I have been using an Acoustic Research AW-771 Wireless headphones. I think they are pretty damn good. They have noice cancellation, and big fat comfy ear muff like padding. the headphones help a ton.

I would recommend this brand. I also put my headset microphone around my neck so I can chat. The wireless headphones are way better then a headset.

Depends. It requires piss-farting around with speaker jacks, but
If I want speakers, I use my Altec Lansing 2.1s
If I want headphones, I use my Sennheisers

In both cases, I use a $5 lapel mic I swiped from my mate since he upgraded to a A.L. headset.

Get a good quality headset IMO. Less hassle, less cables.

Count me as part of the herd: Logitech headphone/mic combo. I mostly got it to play and use Teamspeak with some friends. Sometimes I like to use the speakers and hear the arty rattle.

Exactly what I would choose if I had to buy a new one.

It's:
- got neat nice noise cancelling
- soft ear pads, sorrounding the ears, thus blocking noise again
- Sennheiser


PS: The only thing you need in BF2 is somthing that gives you an idea of where a shot came from - means: stereo ^^

Wrong.

I'am in a Clan. Though we haven't really played on the Clan Ladder for about a year (a bit before I joined).

Wrong again.

They can hear me perfectly fine. The sub is pretty low when playing games. 3 Speakers are behind me so you can't hear them when using the mic. And the 3 in front of me would probably make a little background noise when using the mic.
