start a local network game.   If you want something to shoot at....get hamachi and get some friends to connect to your server.

Yes, I think it might work if you start messing with the files. but then again, you are messing with the files and could mess some stuff up.

I'm pretty sure "Operation Clean Sweep" has helo's and jets in the single player mode.

yeah dragon valley has helos and operation cleansweep has jets too - and you can up the number of bots to as many as your machine can handle by editing Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\aidefault.ai..50 a side seems to be a sweet spot for me, more and it tends to crash a lot.
