Go for one screen.

Not only will it save you money (it costs about 80 bucks to run a monitor for the year, not constant, but rather how you are currently using it) but it also doesn't have that obscene gap in between the two screens.

I'd go with dual monitors.

By looking at the setup you have, I doubt that saving $80 a year is really an issue to you.

When I used dual monitors, I found it much nicer since I could be playing a full screen game on one monitor and talking to friends or surfing the web on another.  It's much better for multitasking.

Single monitor. Plurge on the size, then use whatever you had before as secondary.

I use a single screen, with a second optional monitor off to the side. They're different sizes, but have high max resolutions. When I open an app that I want to spread out or read digital documentation at the same time I'm using it, I turn on the second monitor. When I'm playing BF2, one does just great.

Or you could put both setups on a switch.

Get the big one. I'm assuming your system is very nice and you won't see it reaching its full potential on low res 19" screens.

Personally, I would go with just one main monitor and maybe one off to the side for multitasking, but I wouldn't use a widescreen for gaming. Widescreens have a bad habit of ghosting and it's not always better to have a bigger monitor for gaming just for that very reason. Since it looks like you can afford whatever components you need, I would personally look at investing in ViewSonics 24" 2ms monitor or one of Samsung's 5ms monitors. For gaming you can't beat either one, especially the ViewSonic.

I'd get the 24 inch monitor because I really dont see the point of having two.

Duals, very very very few games can yet run native in any kind of widescreen res yet. Well, certainly NONE of the BF series anyway.

The only real advantage to a single widescreen is watching videos, etc is much better (more "correct" aspect ratios) However, a 19" at 1280x1024 fits 720p video PERFECTLY, so I just go for that.

Finally maximizing to a 24" is stupid. There are about 0 programs that need that much real estate, but having two "maximize" areas on a dual setup actually works very nicely.

All in all, I find duals to be better.

TBH i dont do much else whilst playn BF so i have no need for a desktop monitor. I would much rather get a bigger picture and higher res for my sniping

Well my original setup was dual monitors but I switched in early December to the Dell 24" Widescreen because I wanted my games to have the ability to run at 1920x1200, the monitors native resolution. What some people don't realize when reading this is that I switched from 2 monitors to 1 big one (*cough*cough*B00MH3ADSH0T*cough*cough*). I had problems running HD content because the 2 monitors could not support resolutions higher than 1280x1024 on either of them. Yes I do realize that some people would say "Your graphics card doesn't have HDCP enabled on it." Well it does, and can run at full 1080P only that my 19" monitors couldn't display at the correct resolution. That is why I replaced my 2 monitors with the new widescreen.

Think about it 1 19in monitor. 1/2 the time to clean, power usage, the cost, space used on desk, the cords and hardware.
