People are naturally curious, but it strikes me as odd when we see a title containing "death" or "hanging" or "scarred," and find quite a few replies, as if many people have viewed the thread.
I also think that people are becoming more accustomed to "black humour" and violence and accepting it a lot more than in years past.

Any thoughts?

And anyone who says that humans in general are more violent now than previously is a bit deluded.

I suppose...  Right now, the world overall is a lot more peaceful than it was 1,000 years ago.  However, Africa is probably a more violent continent today than it was 1,000 years ago.

Of coarse we are. Look at the sports we watch. Boxing, for example. It takes skill, obviously, and much technique to weave and dodge, but the basic principle is "knock the ^%&# out of the other guy."

Another example is the Saddam hanging. I've seen countless posts of "I hope they show the movie on the news," or "I hope it's posted on the internet."
