You wouldn't give two fucks about the various wars in Africa, only now they are killing some Muslims its time to get involved. Talk about proxy wars during the cold war. Same shit, different way to scare the shit outa Americans.
What about the Congo, 4million have died there?

Maybe if Europe hadn't left Africa a mess, it would not be such a disaster.  Plus, the US has been in Africa A LOT over the years, it just is not covered by the news.

Thats not true. I think the wests failure to intervene in Africa is a disgrace, stymied in part because the people themselves don't seem to want the help.

Because European and Western powers have been meddling and exploiting the area for years, hindering its advancement.
We can't just go in, fuck things up and say bye bye!

The French Foreign Legion are all over Northern Africa, how about the French use them to help people.

More than a 1/4 of the French military is deployed in Africa. They're doing their best.

People always neglect the fact that Africa is massive. Much bigger than it looks on maps because of equatorial distortion. The Democratic Republic of Congo (where the French have a very modest peacekeeping presence) is about the same size as western Europe and that's just one African country. Peacekeeping for the 2nd largest continent requires a lot more than 10000 troops.

I think the best way for the west to help is by increasing funding for the AU. It's much better for their own peacekeeping forces to do the job. There is corruption within the AU, but it's much, much less than you'll find most other places in Africa.
