Well the title kinda says it all but here's the official decisions by the court:

Yahoo wrote:

"The appeal court has approved the death sentence. They (the government) has the right to choose the date starting from tomorrow up to 30 days. After 30 days it will be an obligation to implement the sentence," the head of the Iraqi High Tribunal, Aref Abdul-Razzaq al-Shahin, told a news conference.
PS:  I searched for this and found nothing on the forums yet.

Agreed, it would be easier.
But in the long run, Saddam hanging may help take some of the wind out of the sails.

Yeah, he will be executed, unless he would procure "accidentally" some cianide....
Like something familiar have happened back at Nürnberg...

So they finally found a judge that would execute him...

Way to easy, they need to make him work in a chain gang and rebuild Iraq for the next 20 years.

This way people would be able to throw a few rocks as they pass by.

Interesting. His case was expedited faster than Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, Robert Blake, and OJ. Our courts could learn something from Iraq.

Too bad, I am going to miss him.  I miss the old days of the late 90's being woken up in the middle of the night only to hop on a plane to Kuwait because he had moved his troops up to the border again, or kicked UN inspectors out.  Good times.

He gets hanged, but so called civilized leaders go on killing innocents, too funny in my book. Should he be hanged? well if that is the law of the land then yes, but let's see PNAC members extradited for charges of death on innocents to the name number as Saddam was judged!

That made unsettling quick work of Timothy McVeigh.

McVeigh expedited that trial.

I'm sure we'd whip out a fast trial too for someone who had killed 100,000+ of our citizens, not to mention someone who had sponsored amputations, mutilations and rape rooms.

Highly doubt it, he'll probably be like a martyr and we all know how riled up that gets everyone.

Very possible, but martyring appeals more to the religious fanatics. His followers were more of the power-hungry, ego-maniacal mindset that is more concerned with keeping themselves alive and well. The best we can hope for is that this can help the Iraqis move on from the oppression of Saddam's rule and start pulling themselves out of the state of war they live in now.

At this point, killing Saddam isn't going to improve Iraq in any significant way.  Granted, killing him is perfectly justified in my opinion.

Except that he's an enemy of Al Qaeda, which according to you makes up the majority of the resistance to US forces.

Wouldn't it be funny if the guy who just got sentenced was just one of Saddam's uber loyal dopplegangers?  And the real Saddam is laughing it up with his new Al Qaeda buddies (who of course don't exist) and he and the baathists are ready to wage real war if the doppleganger is hung?  Wow, that can really mess with your mind.
