ok first really quick heres my specs, or fromwhat i kno at least

Nvidia Geforce 7800GS AGP
2X 512 ram DDR 333
2.8Ghz Pentium 4 processor
2 HDs both 120GB each
i dunno my mother board well i just kno its Asus.

this is the link to the card i have i just got it for christmas

http://www.amazon.com/Geforce-7800GS-256MB-DDR3-Extreme/dp/B000EHP608/sr=8-1/qid=1167101051/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-4259951-6618301?ie=UTF8&s=electronics

i used to have an ATI radion 9600XT and it ran bf2 smoothly on all medium on 800 by 600 res or all low on 1024x768

ok first question is how high do u guysthink i can put battlefield 2 graphics up to. and second when i load certain maps like strike at karkand its all messed up like some black spots all over the place, models not loaded correctly and parts of it outta place and such. i had set my graphics to everything high and AAX4 to even all medium with X4 AA which my old ATI card was able to run fine if i used 800 by 600 res. All so its doing this to Battlefield 1942. and its horriable on company of heroes i cant even play cause it looks so bad.

heres 3 screen shots i took to show what i mean

plz if anyone can help me i would greatly apreciate it.

o also if anyone knows the latest drivers for this card can u give me a link for it because iam not sure which one to get. and the last time i had nvidia was an old geforce 3 many years ago. i kno know how to work with ATI.

also its doing it to Battlefield 2142
http://www.theaao.com/~flare/pics/screen031.jpg

all settings on highest, runs smoothly just with all that stuff on it....for some weird reason tho when i first put the card on and i tryed 2142 it worked perfectly then i put bf2 and everything crazy messed up from there. i have reinstalled this cards drivers, from the CD ive uninstalled bf2 completly and installed / patched to 1.41 again about 3 times and still same problem and i really wanna keep away from formatting at the moment

Here is a link to the nvidia drivers.  Remember to uninstall any video drivers you currently have before installing the new ones.

If you have XP or 2000, this is the one.  I just installed them.  Haven't played BF2 yet with them, but everything else is OK.

Ok, from what i can see, its a few possible scenarios.
1. Graphic Cards problem (usually hardly the case)
2. Motherboard problem (Certain motherboards don't support certain things and in turn, certain applications)
3. Drivers

Graphic Cards have a 99% chance of "working fine or better"

Certain motherboards don't support certain hardware(usually not the case), in turn certain drivers, in turn certain applications. It mostly lies in the motherboard and drivers.
From your screenshots, its most probably your motherboard. ASUS is quite a common brand, so its hard to tell its actual capabilities.

As you know, as things get more popular. quality drops. Expecially for food

I always have no problems, old graphic cards, new ones, all are fine, even working better than wat was stated.

I using GeForce 7950GT, 512MB DDR.
The difference to other people is that my motherboard is by GIGABYTE. So far, its the best i've bought.
The few reasons that people hardly buy, cos of its heavy price tag.

I'll tell u my specs:

Motherboard: GIGABYTE Technology Intel 965PE
Processor: 2.4GHz Duo Core Processor
Graphics: GeForce 7950GT, 512MB DDR

And my motherboard is not the normal 965PE edition, mine's build for extreme gaming.
And of cos, its customised....

So go get a better motherboard, and install lastest DirectX, drivers for grpahics, and its too good to be true.

BTW, how long your computer is already?

about 2 years its custom. also the new drivers i jsut got seem to be working fine on 1942 now but bf2 still has small minor problems, shellshocks show weird fuzz squares on sides of screen, the ak72 or whatever had a small hole in the back of it, the C4 was a mess but the maps were fine and solders, just guns now looking weird and shell shock/fading effects. ima check if 2142 is working right now il inform u if it works fine or not. o and by the way can someone show me how i can tell what kinda motherboard i have so i can inform u on what it is? thanks

artifacts on the screen usually means it's overloaded... and since you said the card was hot and driver seems to do nothing, i suspect it's a faulty fan on your graphic card that's making the card overheat, causing the artifact

RMA i guess.... GL

For what it's worth, you can tell if your graphics card is overheating by right-clicking on the nvidia icon in your system tray.  Click on Nvidia control panel, 3D settings, and then on Monitor temperature levels.

Also, I think you're asking too much of the 7800 GS by choosing 4xAA.  Turn off AA and see if that helps.

i disabled AA and have some of the settings to medium and seems to be working fine right now but if it continues il let u kno. cause it sometimes works and sometimes doesent, sometiems it works then as i play starts to lose stuff and look bad

Okay guys, I've had this problem before, and here are the steps to fixing it.
It worked for me, but you can try it and see if it helps you.

1) Right mouse on desktop to pull up display properties
2) Select settings tab
3) Click 'Advanced' tab
4) Click 'Troubleshoot' tab
5) Uncheck 'Enable write combining'

This should get rid of your problem.
I did these steps and I've not had one graphical problem since.
