I have heard this quite a bit. I have also heard that it is possible to kill with flashbangs. It seems like you would get more force by jumping (in the game) because it goes further, which in the real world means more force applied or less resistance. Since resistance remains constant it must be the force that changes. I also know that in real life jumping doesn't give more force, in fact it probably lessens it. But I was trying to be funny with the physics of the game and I was laughing at the jumping thing. What the jumping motion in the game is trying to simulate is more momentum being applied I believe. I want to try the grenade thing out. I am going to find a nearly empty server and TK someone with it cause they won't expect it and will stay still.

yeah you posted that already.....the whole bullet drop issue is pretty much dead..........
ya but they were still arguing.... which kinda made me lose all faith in the general intelligence of the ppl around here...
There IS bullet drop in BF2!!!(HUN)Rudebwoy wrote:

THERE IS NO BULLET DROP IN BF2!
Yesterday I had 3 shots directly at a person from long range and didn't hit - tried 1 shot 1-1,5cm above the person and he's dead...
I used an m24 and the enemy was on top balcony of red/white tower and I was in the building most far away to the west of him...
Dice even stated this fact at some point long ago, but they didn't want to go into details...
there's only bullet drop in sniper rifles because they are the only ones that are shooting for enough to percieve it. if youre using any othre gun you cant see far enough to tell.
"shoot against the wall blah blah blah thast 2 feet away" yeah thats a smart way to prove that theres no bullet drop LOL
when you play sniper always aim too high. its better to miss then try again for a head shot then to hit them in the body and have them know where it came from

Actually, you could KO someone with a grenade thrown at their head.
KO'd in the middle of a gunfight means death, death means death, grenade to head kills.
I think a lot of peoples did physics.
People think jumping makes grenades go further because they're jumping off the ledge in kark, causing the grenade to go in at an angle that makes it arrive on the ground just before exploding, so it essentially gives them a vantage point. And I think you'll find that in real life, jumping will help the thrower apply more force to the grenade, often cricketers are not on the ground when releasing the ball, ask shane warne if you don't agree.

WTF are you talking about. you lose a shitoad of power if you try and throw the ball in the air.kR4MR wrote:

And as for bowling the delivery comes after the bowlers feet hit the deck. Plus warnie isnt trying to achieve any extra power - Brett Lee would be the man to talk to. watch the coverage of tommorrow mornings play (make it early south africa only have 4 wickets left) - no-one will be in the air when they let the pill go.
There were about 5 of us waiting for the transport chopper at the Airport on wake. I was bored so I threw my smoke grenade at some random guy's head and he died. I was like WTF?bs6749 wrote:
I don't know what made me think of this but it seems pretty stupid if it is true.
I heard that being hit in the head with a hand grenade kills with one hit. Not from the shrapnel and explosion but from the impact.
If this is true then it is stupid how it takes 2 headshots with a pistol before the enemy goes down. I don't know about the rest of you but I think that there is more force from a gunshot than ANYONE could ever achieve by tossing a grenade. Yes even while jumping to put that extra umph into it.
needless to say he punished me...
I had wondered about bullet drop myself(?) No bullet drop(?)OUROBOROS wrote:

But hey thanx for the somewhat moronic out of context input. . .
Honestly there is a cone of error for every gun - that is a separate issue - that I was addressing - which is in CONTEXT with topic of this thread.
If there is BULLET drop then there IS(!) - (ergo not ?)
. . . there is also a cone of error for EVERY GUN! It starts from your muzzle end extends as far as the bullet goes just like a geometric CONE with the code of the game randomizing your actual sighted target. (An exploit of this code results in different [possible] forms of accuracy-hacks and aimbots; where (1) the non-sigted mode cross-hairs are always tightened [don't spread apart]; (2) the cone of error is reduced; (3) every bullet hits the target; or (4) an aimbot - every shot hits the target and sometimes in the most damaging way).
Whether or not there WAS a debate about BULLET DROP or NOT has nothing to do with the 2nd FACT:
If you shoot at someone sometimes even if you target him accurately you will miss or not damage him as much as expected. . . or not get that head shot.
Also as the original context of the thread indicated - why do we die sometimes - when we shoot at someone and then they head-shot us instantly?
One reason given was: we might be prone and the only thing to shot at (for the other guy) is our FACE! And that makes sense.
But reaction time plays a factor - what you see and what happens in code are not the same thing. If he started shooting at you FIRST (or his lag was less than yours) the code is going to register his shots before yours. . . Server calulates your dead - not him.
You can empty an entire clip into a guy and he doesn't die - you do - guess what this will happen sometimes - you have to try to kill what you see as fast as you can as accurately as possible.
Having a UAV on the area - or COMMANDER spotted targets will help improve your reation time/knowing what you're going to do helps(!). . . also there is saftey in numbers - if someone shoots at a guy (meat-shield) near you this opponent posistion has been revealed = faster reaction time on your part to take that known location out. . . also sometimes your spotted so expect to get shot at - so move around (A LOT!).

Back to the original question...peacock3 wrote:
I have a reasonable amount of playing time in and I'm curious about something:
I'm playing a sniper and I'm laying down an enemy locates me because I have missed his head and he has that last 5% of life left. He is at least 100yds away, jumps and kills me with one shot. This happens to me quite often.
Is the person really that good, it seems like I need a well placed shot with the upgrade sniper rifle right in the ear to a guy who has been sitting still to long at average distance.
Is this a hack/trainer modification if not I have been put down by either pure luck or some serious bas asses.
If you are one of those bad asses maybe you would like to share how you have head-seeking missle bullets.
Yes, this has happened to me, and the first thing i think of is 'cheat!', but it's probably not the case...
I'm sure there's just some lucky shots happening here, not to mention the fact that when you are prone, you are basically presenting your head directly at them. They only need one bullet to land on your skull and you're toast.
On the subject of accurate fire, just last night I jumped in one of those dune buggy thingys with two other guys... we were zooming full tilt along the top end of wake island, ... then ... each of us got sniped out of the buggy in three clean shots by the same guy. First the top gunner, then the driver... buggy came to halt... i hit f1 and tried to take off, but he got me too... crack crack crack! either he was v.good or just v.lucky...
All I have to say is ROFLMFAO. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. OMG, holy shit man. I was going to try it out but I didn't and when I read your post I immediately started laughing hysterically and still am now writing this. I guess the picture of you tossing a smoke grenade and hearing the "scream of dying player" as he falls over was just too much for me. Thanks for confirming this for me.deject wrote:

yea I was kind of shocked because I think our combined lag made him take a quarter-second to die so the smoke bounced off his face and then fell over dead a split second later. I was laughing like crazy while thinking WTF at the same time...bs6749 wrote:

Kind of like following your buddy on a long fall and landing on him for a TK. WTF I'M USING A PARACHUTE!
LOL. I thought I remember someone saying that about the parachute. Was it you too that pushed the commander off the crane killing him and then fell on him without a chute and didn't get hurt? That was hilarious. Even better when you said, " Thanks Champ."deject wrote:

Yeah there are a lot of funny ways to kill someon, for example someone in a jet was shooting at my heli and I jumped out before it exploded, I didn't even have a chance to open my chute because the guy flew with his jet right into me and exploded, the funny thing is I got the kill and he didn't
Also as a commander you can drop supplies "too" exactly like on an enemy sniper's head or on a teammate
But the lamest kill I ever encountered was when a guy on Clean Sweep in a buggy always drove before the plane right after it started and punished the pilot for it, I tried C4'ing his car but he was following me and when I ran away and hid to blow him up so the plane can take off he drove with the C4 right into the plane and spawned again to drive the buggy before, when he couldn't reach it he just ran before the plane and punished etc. and the whole thing for 2 rounds... I got banned from that server from "TKing" him.

It is also funny to make people tk you...
Before all of you start to flame me: I did it once and my goal was not to be tk-ed.
Me and my brother playing on the same server on op clean sweep with usmc.
We were waiting for an apc to spawn, when a saw my brother holding a pistol, aiming and moving towards me.He was really scary. We decided to joke a teammate.I guy was waiting for the plane, then both my brother and me pulled out the pistols, aimed at the guy and started walking towards him.We did not shoot a single bullet, but the guy started bunnyhopping, and when we came about 5 meters close to him, he shot me in the head....
of course i forgave him, and told him it was a joke...
