i now have 5167 points but i still dont have the staff sergeant rank.. whats the matter and how to solve it?
The next time you play and earn 1 point you will be promoted. That happens when EA doesn't know how many points you made aka the server hasn't submitted yet/the stats haven't been processed by EA.
For example:
You enter a game. EA tells the server (Server A) you have 4900 points. In the first round you earn 10 points in the second round 20 points.
You switch servers (Server B). EA tells the server you have 4900 points, because your score from the previous rounds has not yet been processed and are in the backlog. You play very good and end up with a score of 99. The next round you get "There is a problem with your connection." which forces you to switch servers.
In the meantime EA has processed your first round on Server A and Server C knows now that you have a global score of 4910. You play three rounds with a score of 29 each.
A friend calls and you disconnect.
You connect to Server D and he recieves your Global Score: 4930. You are not able to make the 70 points for the next rank. Just 51.
Still wondering why you're not yet promoted you decide to eat something and then check bf2s.com.
While waiting for the pizza EA processes your stats.
You check bf2s.com and it says:
Score: 5167
And you think "wtf? sum1 hax0rs my stats? olol. I'll make a thread in the bf2s.com forum."
The next time you enter a game, EA tells the server that you are Corporal, have a score of 5167 and that you are eligible for the promotion to Sergeant immediately. But you need to trigger it with +1 point.

You need 8000 points for the staff sergeant rank, if you have 5167 points you are sergeant
Dear you, 8000 points is for gunnery sergeant. Not staff.iamamuts wrote:

Ali's explanation was quite good. And installing the latest patch is always a good idea..
basically, there is nothing you can do but make sure your game is up to date. The stats system is not always working to perfection, but that's not much of a surprise really. after all, they are tracking about a million players worldwide. most of these issues are resolved with a little patience.
