Many people advocate losing the monarchy, and have an elected President as head of state. Just to be clear, we're simply replacing the Queen here with someone who wont spend as much public money.

I'll propose Terry Wogan as first president.

The Queen pumps over a hundred million pounds of her income into public coffers every year. She pretty much pays for herself.

I'd go with Blair though. For all his faults at least he has the experience. I don't think Wogan woud cut it though
