I was wondering, i ahve a pentium 4 3,0GHZ, 1 GB RAM, and a Geforce 6600GT 128MB with newest drivers, but i cant play the game on HIGH? Why if i do, i get like graphical erros, where all the textures are screwed up, with black  patches everywhere?  anyone else have this problem??

i have the same configuration you do...only i have a geforce 6800 with 256MB.

that information doesnt really help you, but i wouldnt think you could play on high with that.

actually, i play on the lowest settings anyway.  i dont care much for graphics.  plus, its nice when i quit the game that it only takes like 2 seconds to get back to my desktop.

so...in conclusion...this post has nothing to do with what you said.  it makes sense to me that you cant play on high and i'd recommend playing on medium settings.

...oh...this should be in bf2 help...not bf2s help.  unless the website doesnt run on high graphics settings for you or something...

will be moved to BF2:Help.

I am not much of a tech expert, but maybe 128 mb of Graphics Memory isn't enough to run the game on high..

128 should best run on medium/low never on high, but 256 should be ran medium/high

Your video card isn't quite good enough to play on High settings, but tbh I woudn't worry about it. The differance in appearance between medium and high settings is pretty marginal, and you take a pretty big hit in performance. I have P4 3.2, 1Gb DDR2, XFX 6800 Ultra and can run comfortably on all high, but i have recently dialled back to medium on the most resource hungry settings and the improvement was dramatic. Now i load much quicker, get into rounds first, and to my eyes everything looks better. Look at the advice in bf2tweaks.com (i think thats the name, google it or someone here may remember better than me).

I believe the standard for today is at least 2gigs of ram, and that card is a tad weak to run this game with everything on high.
