I really do hate the way Orthodox Jews/Christians/Muslims act sometimes. This is a reason why.

Edited since some people are too thick to grasp the concept of what I was saying.

That is only true because there are a certain percentage of idiots in every group of people.  These kind of people don't have the common sense to know when something is being taken too far.  They are easily "brainwashed" by their chosen religion (or any other group with specific beliefs).  Soon these people, who started as simple idiots, become weirdos, then fanatics, and perhaps eventually extremists.

Religion + idiots = problems.

Yeah, unfortunately, fundamentalism sucks in all forms.  We just hear more about Islamic fundamentalism because it's more common and violent than most.

It's not a new thing.
Orthodox have been throwing stones at cars driving on the sabbath for decades and recently a large gay pride parade was canceled due to Orthodox threats of violence.

Not to mention Baruch Goldstein and Yigal Amir.

The scariest part is the Orthodox birth rate is very high, so their increasing numbers will give them increasing political power...

QFT.  That reminds me of the abortion clinic bombings/shooting that were going on years ago by some crazy people that claimed to be Christians.  Of course that was uncommon in the overall scheme of things.  However, It sounds like the situation mentioned by the OP is a somewhat common practice in that region.  The article stated that most of the witnesses felt that the victim 'should have known better' and deserved to be beaten.

How come when Christians do bad things then they given the label "claiming to be Christian" but if a Muslim does something bad he's undeniably Muslim?

I'm familiarized with these asshats.  Some of my father's cousins, or whatever I dunno exactly what they are, but they are related to my father, are Orthodox Jews.  FFS, the wife can't show her legs or arms, and she always wears something in the head to cover her hair.  And they never fuck, that's what I heard.  They are insane.  I can't stand those bastards.

I didn't mention Muslims in my post, but that is a good point.  I have never noticed the discrepancy until you pointed it out.  The reason I said it was to prevent someone from pointing out "that's not a real Christian."  However, I'm sure most Muslims would say the same thing about other Muslims that don't practice what they preach.  I think ultimately this happens because many westerners DO associate the Muslim religion with violence and they don't know much about it.  Of course many of those same people probably don't realize that Christians and Muslims worship the SAME GOD.
