The entire PAC effort relies soley on whether or not the guy who gets in the APC first actually drives past the first flag and back-caps. 99% of games I play in the APC driver just camps at our main flag while the gunner launches mortars. This ensures a PAC loss almost every time. My suggestion is that they add 2-3 buggies to the map so players can actually get by the EU line of defense.

not everything fancy writes has to be funny. its a good idea, a few more buggies and maybe a new route into the city.

Thats what separates Fall of Berlin from its brother Belgrade, the chokeholds in Fall of Berlin is what tests if PAC is a good team or not, once the PAC gets a good foot hold on the first flag or flanks to the back flags EU will crumble from there.

as shown by these maps

Belgrade obviously allows more flanking and has more space then Fall of Berlin, for infantry try to get a well coordinated squad to sneak past that little red area I circled in Fall of Berlin.

It's actually not entirely impossible for the PAC to get the first flag. It just takes squadwork - and a pair of big, fat hojoes!

I have two videos where my squad was able to take crossroads. Once taken, it's not too difficult to hold and it's much easier to sneak to the rear flags.

1st...
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid … 2#0h09m00s
2nd...
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid … 77#0h1m18s

These were done on a 64 player server, no less, so resistance was IMMENSE!

It helps to haul serious ass, because the sooner you get there the better (less APMs setup and such).

You will probably die taking crossroads, but it's a surefire way to set the EU off-balance.

Plus, remember, you can lock-out the EU on berlin - they have no uncap. If you take crossroads and then EU base they are toast: no vehicles, no assets - game over.

It's important for the EU to have a strong-ass foothold at the beginning of Berlin. After all, they might need any lead they can scrape up at the start. There are so many ways to sneak to the EU base, it's almost a sin.

FAV's sound neat, but I think they would just put the EU at a more severe disadvantage. Basically, if the PAC plays like a team, then the EU is in for some serious problems.

No buggies on Berlin.  Why? w33t correctly pointed out that "if the PAC team acts like a team, the EU is in serious trouble."

The best strategy as PAC: Load up your SQUAD (not a random batch of mixed units) in the APC and take the first left out of the noncap, into the southern alley.  Turn the corner to face the Crossroad EMP cannon and unload on EU troops.  Meanwhile, your squad members exit the APC and climb the ladder to attack the Roadblock.  Most EU point whores are too busy a) defending the Crossroads or b) running from you APC to notice the squad hopping the fence.  Also: the UAV drone is a must for this (and most city maps).

Why not just load up the APC and charge the Crossroads? Four words: EMP and roller mines.

Ooh, that's a fantastic tactic! I'll have to try that one out

The man speaks the truth, although usually its faster and cooler to use the APC's pods to just clear the fence.  Another fun tactic is to take the Walker back there.  Nothing like 20 feet of flankage.

if the APC tries to make a push, 9 out of 10 times the roller mines will get them. I cant count the ammount of times I got a full APC that way. And no Im NOT claiming that Im a leet uber mofo, its just realy easy.
Best use of the EU APC is to use mortar and main gun to get maybe 50 - 60 tickets per 1-2 on EU side. And EU walker needs to clear the left side to the fence and allow infantry to try and go throu.

Damn!  I always forget about the pods!  That's an even better/faster/direct way to attack the Roadblock!

I'd prefer to see the splash damage on the APC slightly reduced, otherwise yes it's usually a one sided affair but any half decent teamwork can take the first flag a push for the win.
