Why do you think EA is doing this ? Is there any chance that it would be pure generosity (even for a limited time) ?

They want the people who havn't tried BF2142 try the whole version for some time and see if it's good for them.

Steam have done that with Dod:s and Red Orceshtra or something. Possible some other games to.
