I know, its just there's basically no prescedence for a lawsuit. And even if there was, there is no way you could ever successfully sue EA.

Class action Tort lawyers are the scum of the planet. Rich scum they may be, but scum they still are.
There are no legal grounds to sue EA - if you went to court you would lose big time. However like san4 mentioned, the negative publicity may make EA want to settle. However it would be a pitiful amount because they're not risking anything monetary if they go to court - save lawyer fees of course.

Give it up bro. If you don't like EA so much as to sue them than you ma as well just boycott them.

This may be what EA and other corps like them are counting on. No precedence, proof. Damage. nope... it might be done but it's better to get back at them through public investment and profits.

IF you had evidence that they were manipulating say BF2 game play during the time of release of BF2142 to make 2142 sales better then you might get some Feds and the IRS in there.

Stop talking them out of it. If someone's stupid enough to think that they actually have a court-worthy case here, then let them waste their time, money and credibility on trying this. It may be the only thing that will teach them enough about life to realize just how naive and pampered they are.

Don't listen to these guys. Go ahead and start your class action. And don't give up when most of the lawyers you talk to laugh you out of the office. The one who finally takes the case will do just as good of a job with your class action as he does with your parking tickets. Also, don't get discouraged when the judge laughs your case out of the courtroom. Or when you get that legal bill for $300/h. It's all part of the journey of making EA pay for giving us a great game that you've spent over 440 hours playing.

Sue on, you brave soul.

I think class action tort law is incredibly important. Yes, it's true that class action lawyers can go too far (suing EA for making buggy games would be a good example). But they let little people band together to force companies to pay for harm they cause. I feel safer knowing that if a company makes toasters that electrocute people, class action lawyers will step in and clobber that company.
