I think Cherrywood would look really nice, it would give it a nice colour. Also really nice job on your other knives, I'm not much a knife guy but I can really appreciate the work you put into it. Also I really like the Pearl and the Ash handles, I'm not so big on the Kingwood Scales but great work, good luck.

ya i dont really like the kingwood that much, its too dense. hard to work with, and it smells like crap when your sanding it.

that black ash is very nice with the blue dye, one thing i've thought would look nice but have yet to see is a natural light colored wood like with no stain, as pale as possible, you ever do that?

then again, no matter what you're designing light colors seem to do best on very large surfaces, how big are those knives?

I like it, but I think rubber handle panels or wood would be better than that pearl. But it looks awesome!!
i agree with that.  Pearl just doesnt fit a knife in my opinion

are you kidding? the only thing that looks sleeker is a highly polished metal handle, and the pearl hides scratches better.

I like the ash.  That blue is very nice.
If that knife was cheaper, I would get it.  (I just don't have that kind of money to throw around!)

kr@cker, ya i work with natural wood alot. its just that my customer ordered these specifically. very rarely am i able to make the knife i want. lol no one would be able to afford the knife i want to make. if it was up to me, i would do that automatic, with a backspine. mammoth ivory scales, damascus blader/bolsters. etc etc.......aahhhhh its nice to dream.

anyway ya these autos are just under nine inches when theyre opened.
thanks again for the interest and the opinions guys.

ok so i just finished a new knife for a customer, and since i get everyones opinion on everything else around here, can you guys tell me what you think?

it is an automatic, with a button action. pearl acrylic handles, 8 inches overall length, just shy of four inches of blade. very, very sharp edge, with filework on the bladespine. any comments welcome, thanks for looking.

this first one is of it opened....notice the distinct edge on that thing...also the button action.

this next one is of it closed.......

and this last one is of the "S" pattern filework down the spine of the blade.

thanks again for looking.
Should I ever get stabbed by a smackhead after cash for a fix I hope it's with a knife as beautifully crafted as that. I hope the smackhead appreciates it too.

I'd have gone into more details but I can't think of anyone else other than a smackhead who carries a knife.

funny i was going to ask about damascus steel and all, what kind of metals do you use? you ever get any request for meteorite work?

ive gotten one inquiry about metoerites. i dont think the person was serious, just more of a "have a question" type thing.
i would love to get the chance to work with that shit though.
for damascus, it depends on what design im making but most of the time i will wind up using 440C stainless and like 01 tool steel, or some nickel alloy.
my mentor in TX recently started making damascus bar stock so i might just start getting it from him.

you were asking for negatives, and i honestly can't say i can find any. they seem pretty tight all around. let us know when your site's up.

do you do pistol grips? what about stone knives? i know chipping is a completely different process, but i've seen a few, especially in tennesee, knives are pretty popular anywhere in the appalachians

if i lived out west i'd spend so much time looking for meteorite steel i'd be one big skin cancer spot

ive done two pistol grips. both for 1911's. one a kimber, the other a wilson combat. the kimber got tiger coral......very expensive. and the wilson got carbon fiber, it looked pretty sweet when it was all done.
ive seen a few stone knives, however there is no way in the near future that i could start working on those. learning what heat does to different steels is still taking up all my free time....and until i can get that mastersmith certification i so bady desire (90 degree bend test with no cracks) it will continue to eat up all my time.....lol well that and this fucking video game. but whenever i get that certification the price on all my prior knives skyrockets so im holding on to a few. not to mention the future knives that start selling for like five grand and shit.

I don't know much about knives, but I can suggest that you get a new camera... your current one seems to think that it is always January of last year.
