If the British had lost the Battle of Britain and Germany successfully invaded the island 'fortress' how would you British people respond. Would you resist and accept your defeat? Would you engage in guerrilla warfare or invest in some lederhosen? I'd like to put it to the poll for the purposes of various other threads.

I think we would have put up quite a resistance although are homeguard wasn't all that great.
PLUS the Germans wouldn't have lasted 2 minutes not against " Balls of British Steel "

Considering the British monarch has been a German for the past 300 years they might take it rather well.

My state was founded by Batman. Your opinion is invalid.
You Brits lost enough colonies. Must be desperate to not shrink any further, huh.LostFate wrote:

No, here in America, all nationalities are hyphenized. Our 'melting-pot' culture is more of an oil-and-water ordeal, as far as that's concerned.Cheez wrote:

It was an example. I know very well you're multicultural. Australia is the exact same thing (not just fucking convicts, please get out of the 18th Century).unnamednewbie13 wrote:

Britain lost colonies yes, but that's because they changed into independent dominions.
Most of them still see the Queen as Head-Of-State, and are part of the Commonwealth.

There weren't Irish here 300 years ago. The major influx of immigration began in the 19th century which is when nativism and temperance movements of the citizens conflicted with the arrival of poor, Catholic Irish and Germans which conflicted with the Protestant beliefs of most at the time.Cheez wrote:
