have you had this problem?
sometimes, while playing, suddenly the screen goes to desktop, with the game still going on below.
it happens to me when i join a server and start using a plane or chopper a few seconds after i joined or sometimes when the map is still loading.....

Noes bennet cant play bf2.
You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.

I've been gettin that since 1.41 when I use my grappling hook in SF sometimes. Other times it'll just happen for no reason but for some reason I can't ever get BF2 to open back up again, even when I minimize it on purpose I can't ever get it to open back up.
I've heard of that stuff happening because of a sound card or corrupted sound file or something like that but I dont know about all that shit...

Learn to read, he's not got a CTD problem, just a minimization of the game, same as if you hit Alt-Tab.

I had the same problem. It disappeared after I turned off "auto-update" on my antivirus and firewall (those were the only two that had it enabled).
Check to see if any of your programs are set to "autoupdate" or "autocheck for updates".

I heard it's the new way PunkBuster handles cheaters in 1.41.
Uninstall your game cheats and that should fix it.

Sounds to me like you're accidentally hitting ALT+TAB or the Windows button.

Try turning off your antivirus and automatic updates before playing.

mm, i have autoupdates on everything but when the crash happens theres no sign of any update going on.
i changed AV from Norton to Nod32 and fw from zonealarm to kaspersky and the problems has not happened again... weird.

Usually some CTD's can be caused by rare errors that can occur during gameplay.
Spamming the parachute button just right will give you a CTD.
Certain projectiles and Z-clipping not registering appropriately in your client can cause a CTD.

I don't think it's an actual update that is causing it, but rather the program just *checking* to see if there's an update available. This somehow gets priority over a fullscreen game that is running.
