So then why do they still dislike us so much?  I can understand if we claimed an air of superiority but to align themselves against us globally does not engender me to them.

I'm considering myself as a European, I was born in France, raised in England, and most of my buddies come from everywhere in the world. (yep inc. USA) I always get mad at people for criticizing A country or A nation.
Especially because most of these people have never been in the country they so gratuitously take the mick of.
Politicians suck whether they're American French British or Mongolian. I've met enough good people from US, Britain etc to tell you that if the countries were really run by regular people, they would be less b**sh*t.
French Girls do shave, British people don't wear a bowler hat anymore and Americans are not all obese!
