ok, im reading how to get all these badges and ribbons and this is a requirement. What exactly is a "driver special-ability point"?

Using your class ability on other people:
Healing people as a medic, whilst sitting in car.

you have to be driver of a vehicle and either medic/support/engineer. most common ways to get em are being support or medic in a blackhawk, healing/resupplying passengers/gunners.
Isnt a driver kill assit counted as a driver special ability point? So if a passenger kills someone then you get a driver point
im not sure actually whether or not kill assists count. anyone else that can confirm/bust this?
Crew service ribbon requirements
" * IAR: 1 Driver Special Ability Point
* IAR: 13 Driver Kill Assists
* IAR: 5 kills"
They seem to be different.

I think that a driver kill assist (as mentioned above) is awarded when you are in a passenger seat of a vehicle while the driver gets a kill. A driver special ability point is awarded when you are a Medic, Support or Engineer and you heal, resupply, or repair a vehicle or teammate while riding in the vehicle.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that seems to make the most sense.

you are all close, its when you are the DRIVER and someone in the vehicle with you gets a team point, through resupply heal etc...

Yes, YOU HAVE TO BE THE DRIVER/PILOT who heals or supplies ammo to team mates in a Blackhawk/MEC/PLA chopper or Humvee or Vodik or the Chinese equivalent of a Humvee. Not sure about apcs though.the_heart_attack wrote:

Well in my stats I have 4500 driver points, and I can guarentee they're from my copilot in a chopper getting a kill and not a heal/resuply/repair.
best way to get driver special ability points are to just whore in a chopper for a few minutes, have a medic in back and you fly chopper, and whenever the medic gets a healing point for healing someone in chopper (usually healing other guys in back or gunners) you (the pilot) will get a driver special ability point.
Easy, problem solved. ( i think) :s

Fromthe post inthe WIKI section about points:
"Driver special ability = 1 point. Note: You recieve these points while driving or piloting and someone that is in the vehicle with you recieves combat or team points."
Although I think it should not include the words "combat or" As that would lead to a driver kill assist.

no, you just have to be the driver, its the other people in the vehicle that get you the points.{HMS}_Sir_Del_Boy wrote:

Well I think it's wot they do in the end like shooting enemies and helping each other out at the same time while in the vehicle. I've got special driver ability points just flying around in the Blackhawk as a medic even though my passengers aren't doing anything at all but just enjoying the ride and firing randomly at the scenery.the_heart_attack wrote:

huh?
kill assist is when you are just in the vehicle and someone else in the same vehicle kills someone, doesnt matter whether you are pilot/driver or passenger.
special ability points as far as Im aware is manouvering the vehicle, I rack them up mostly on Mashtuur when I pilot the blackhawk weaving in and out of streets/around buildings.
I also got one once sat in an APC.....an attack chopper flew right at me and as it flew over me I just moved forward, spun the turret around and fluked a missile shot.
Thats what I always thought they were for anyway - when you pull things off ?

Stats wise, anything that says "driver" at the start is a driver point, be it "driver kill assist" or "driver special ability" Cause I dont have as many kill assists as I do driver points, and im always piloting and getting kills for the gunner.
In your stats the Driver Kill Assist and Driver Special Abbility are the points for Driver but if the requirement for an award is 1 Driver Special Abbility e.g. for the Crew Service Ribbon you need to be Driver and one of your passengers gets a healing/resupply/repair point. It also works in the Attack Chopper and in the Bomber on Co-Pilot Seat when your Pilot heals/resupplies/repairs you/someone standing outside.
That's how I got my Crew Service Ribbon. I was wounded witing for the Bomber on Oman to spawn and my Pilot was Medic. I jumped in the plane, got healed, recieved a Driver Special Abbility and the Crew Service Ribbon.
The other day I got a Driver Special Abbility on Zatar. I jumped in a car at the MEC Airfield, stepped on reverse, made a nice U-Turn, stepped on forward and recieved a Driver Special Abbility point. There was no one else in my car that could have healed or resupplied me, which wasn't necessary in any case because I just spawned, and the U-Turn was more a 90° curve driven reverse BUT I got a Driver Special Abbility.
