Great idea,if the people would actually see the red skulls we could consider to colorcode them.
Claymores and AT-mines are condemned to be useless because your teammates don't watch out for tiny red skulls, changing the color wouldn't make a big difference,tank-drivers do not look at it anyway and always punish the AT-mine teamkill.
I think that some people even deactivate their 3D-map(the distance to the flags, red skulls,etc..)to get a better performance out of their crappy machines or just because they get irritated by the flags in midair.
But besides that the idea is awesome.
So, has the median maturity level/IQ dropped since the DesertCombat days? I distinctly remember using mines extensively while playing AT class, and never having TK problems. Then again you could actually mark mines on the map in DC. It is sad to think of all the ways this game is so backwards from DC,(naval battles, shoulder fired stingers, Howitzer, unbastardized 249SAW, etc.) but also has so many improvements (squads, VoIP, umm thats pretty much it I guess). Obviously, I realize it is the natural progession of games to change, but personally I think EA had DICE by the balls on this one. Don't get me wrong, I like the game and still have the great "Battlefield moments", but they definitely left something to be desired. Bring back the binoculars DAMNIT! Anyhow, I think this is a great idea, and not just because the OP is part of my clan either...
Not that great ideas really make it to the people making the game, but I have thought this to be a simple implementation since day one. Then again, I thought it would be simple to fix the infamous "red bug" but I have still seen that from time to time too.
