I have this kit, and absolutely love it. Its sitting on my desk now in front of me.

When I was nine I built a star destroyer, approxamately one third of the size, made out of white blocks, completely solid. It now holds my door open, its that heavy.

yeah, I have always and always will love Lego's (and yes, screw the correctness of saying it properly as "Lego"). I remember some of my kits included the space shuttle with the booster rockets and launch tower, couple of planes, an older medical helicopter resembling a chinook (see Chinook Pic), the older train with the metal electricity-conducting tracks with the Amtrak train, and a big base for the underwater guys which were called, if I remember right, the Aquanauts(?)... yeah, I definitely have had a lot of good times with Lego's in my lifetime... lot of good memories of the excitement of getting a new one, especially the big ones... I agree with alien-DSW-Gen, it really is a shame the big sets cost so damn much: they really are kick-ass awesome!

wow, lego really does own. i haven't anything i have made in picture form, but i made alot. my dream job used to be a lego designer guy... i was obsessed.

my latest set would have to be an ARC from the time episode 3 came out (star wars). i might play with it again some time...

I friggin love LEGOS!!! I remember when I was 4 or 5 I got my first lego set, it was this big Ice Planet spaceship. Pretty bad ass. And as a matter of fact, I've recently gotten back into legos! (I had a decline over the past 5 or 6 years). I remember every summer a friend and I would build big cities and all kiinds of stuff, so I'm thinking that since winter break is coming up (3 weeks off! ) I should try building another one. I only have pics of one of my older cities, but they're not digital, so I can't show them However, instead of building a city this time, I just want to build some sort of military installation, something along the lines of Metal Gear Solid. It'll be badass for sure! Heh, when I try to fall asleep at night I think happy thoughts, and lately legos have been in a lot of them

And is it me or do the new lego suck bad? They're all about franchises and crap and trying to get away with putting less pieces in the sets (aside from those massive star wars sets). I love the old-school stuff like Ice Planet and Spyrius.

I'm thinking of ordering some vintage Lego from ebay. Plus I could definitely use one of those monorail sets!

yeah, the new sets are pretty stupid. i never went by the manual. they should just release sets where all you have is the normal 2x4, 1x8, .... blocks so you can build your own stuff. also when you build something out of your imagination it usually looks way better. i remember building a pretty realistic (excempt that the colors were fucked because i didn't have enough gray parts) F-14 model with the movable wings and all. i also build a Nimitz class aircraft carrier that was about 2m long. too bad i dint have any parts for planes left. so i later reconverted it into a cargo ship and later into a sailing yacht (i even had my mum make me custom sails). in fact this post makes me want to start building something lego again
