For those of you that have seen Bowling For Columbine, you know that the German government is mislaying blame.

For those who haven't, watch it.  It talks about the Columbine school shootings in the US and the possible reasons behind it.  It points out that the kids that did the shooting went bowling before they went on their rampage.  Games are an easy excuse so that people don't have to examine the underlying social problems plaguing their kids.  Which is very likely bad parenting.

It is true that fucked up people do this, but it is the games that can easily influence these fucked up people.  Lets say you have somebody who gets bullied never play a shooter game, it is more likely that they dont or that they dont even get the idea of going to their school and shooting a bunch of people...

I going to say this because I am a prime example of this debate.

Growing up I didn't play many video games, mainly just Sonic and sport games.  Jr. High hits being me I suppose (also a minority but I don't think that had much to do with it), I got into a lot of fights and I mean a lot of fights.  Because of that I've become very hard-hearted.  During those days I never thought to kill them just to put them into enough pain to stop fighting.  Later on I started playing "violent" video games.  I started watching more and more violent movies.  Now, in this case I should've taken upon those influences and gone on a rampage at school killing all those kids who sought to beat me up.  Now, I'm making this sound nicer than it is.  But my point is I never turned to killing because of video games or movies or the media, even though there seemed to be reason to.

What I'm going at, is that those kids are already messed up before they even touched video games.  And would've probably done what they did even if they didn't play video games.  I know I'm messed up, I know that my heart is hard and I don't give a fuck about a lot of things but that's not because of video games, it's because of what happened in my life, my real life.  (I don't like letting my gaming life affect my real life either).

Just saying, if you look at the history of these types of shootings they go back far beyond the conception of video games.
