I just hate anyone using that film as an example of anything. It's rubbish and should be treated as such. It's films and media reports giving such a totally unrealistic picture of global warming that contribute to the level of ignorance surrounding the issue.Vilham wrote:
Bert either way we know Global Warming is happening, so his reply is wrong technically but still correct that it is happening.Bertster7 wrote:
What from that film is an exagerated version of events that could be caused by global warming?DrunkFace wrote:
Well done... now go back to school and learn to read. Or is that not being ignorant enough for you to have suitable excuses for fucking up the world.
The Day After Tomorrow is about as accurate as the Da Vinci Code.
They've turned gradual effects, which will most likely be absolutely devastating, into instant catastrophies. The only effects even remotely similar to events portrayed in that joke of a film would be a likely increase in many types of extreme weather phenomenons.
The real devastation caused by climate change will be political and economic. About 40% of the worlds population get their water from melting snow on the Himalayas, for example, with the glaciers there gone the rivers they feed will dry up leading to mass drought.
winter comes later but stays longer.....
Not a single snow flake in vienna so far.

Cold. Back in fall, it changed from the end of summer and still warm to frigid in the span of a few days.
Unseasonably warm.
Snow in late November ... Unbelievable !
Ice bergs off the coast of New Zealand ... Never thought it would happen.
A small Pacific Island slowly being devoured by the ocean ... this is not fiction !
Global warming is a fact ladies and gentlemen, and its effects are there for all to see. Whether you choose to believe your own senses or the rhetoric provided by many governments ... it's up to you.

Lucky bastard! I just got married down at Panama City Beach a couple weeks ago and the weather was awesome. Afterwards I went to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for my honeymoon and it was like 85-90 degrees Fahrenheit. Then I come back to Oklahoma where its 25-30 degrees and snow on the ground. Screw that shit man.Kmarion wrote:

about 30 degrees F to hot here....weird but I'm loving it
I can't go outside for the heat and the smoke. Visibility is about 100m because the smoke haze is so thick.
The paradox is only a conflict between reality and your feeling what reality ought to be.

Nothing out of the ordinary for December in the Midwest - cold and snowcovered.
Last week NASA announced evidence of recently flowing water on Mars, which appears to back up this otherwise crackpot website;
http://www.enterprisemission.com/warming.htm
It is believed that runaway global warming killed our sister planet Venus. Could it be that mars is being reborn before our very eyes?
The other good links this week related to global warming.

Now, I'm not saying global warming ins't real. What I am saying is the cooler heads should prevail and more studies need to be done.
