RPG-7 As an unlock?

What would you think if DICE/EA made the RPG-7 an unlock for the AT class? Both the rocket launcher types have their pros and cons, so neither would dominate - some may prefer the ability to guide the rocket, others may prefer the stealthier RPG-7 thanks to its lack of a lockon tone.

So I repeat the question: What would you think the RPG-7 was a second tier unlock for the AT class?

adding rpg unlock would be cool, plus eryx is the gay. now theres 7 core unlocks, 5 sf unlock, adding rpg would mean that ppl who are corporal get an extra unlock... and rpg would only be used in core bf2...

i think the RPG-7 should have been the MEC AT class' basic anti-tank weapon anyway. it would fit perfectly.

No.....MEC is a PROPER Amry, the RPG 7 is old, dusty and doesn't do shit to modern tanks unless you happen to fire it into the barrel or at the tracks. But then the crew would still be unharmed.
A proper army won't go and buy old dusty RPGs. (Think: Anti-tank class can't destroy tanks) and if would make the game unbalanced, since the USMC has guided and the MEC doesn't have guided and also does less damage.

Unless the RPG7 has unlimited ammo, the Eryx would do fine. (Unless want the EMC to have a TOW)

i'm one of the few people who prefers the RPG to the ERYX/SRAW.

flame me all you want, but i think the RPG is far superior. it travels much more quickly, it has no lock-on tone, and leaves a minimal smoke trail. granted, it takes some skill to use since you can't correct for accuracy, but once you learn the arc and anticipate tank movements, the RPG far outweighs the other AT rockets.

BF2 isn't about realism though, it's about having fun. I don't really care if the idea of using such an old weapon is unrealistic, since you'd be unlikely to see the MEC using L85A1s.

I hate the fact you can't guide it and I get shot with it all the time in infantry combat (nice a RPG in my ass)

after a little more play the rpg-7 has alot going for it .. mainly the no lock warning for vehicles and its more effective against infantry in close to medium

I don't get it. If RPG-7's so shitty them why MEC SF, who must obviously have weapons better then the rest of MEC army use it?

I am fairly sure that the RPG, because it doesn't have any guidence, is deadlier then any other of the anti - tank infantry weapons. EA Probably did this to even it up and not have the Insurgents as a terrible army. Though, in real life, they would'nt have a chance.

oooh, i luv the nade launcher, esspecially when noobs use it as their primary weapon and shoot u from 2 meters away and are then walking over ure corpse unhurt, coz the grenade can't possibly hurt u at all at that distance, lol

and dey say it hurts u if u don't jump lol

Not sure if this is true, but I think if you don't zoom in with the SRAW/Eryx there's no lock on tone. A bit more difficult to use granted, but by and large if you're behind a tank there should be no problem whacking the rocket where you want to. My point is that a large part of the RPG-7's advantage is lost if I'm correct, personally I'd prefer to see another SMG, but one that's a bit more accurate than the standard ones. Meaning that hitting your target is A, Possible and B, Worthwhile. As a regular AT player I find nothing more frustrating than knowing your target is out of DAO-12 range and that by the time you get your pistol ready, aim and fire off enough round you'll probably be dead.

I shall attempt to confirm my theory tonight and get back to you all with the results when I do.

i love the rpg-7 now that ive gotten a bit more used to it, and if you suck with it thats a valid reason to hate it lol. but still, saying its a shit weapon because you cant use it/get killed by it is childish. i use anti tank quite a bit and both guided and unguided have their pros and cons, but i would say they're well balanced and i enjoy both of them

Ya the P90 is gonna suck. But unfortunately, they can't add the RPG-7 as the AT unlock. The primary weapon for the AT class is an smg. The AT rounds are secondary weapons. And since the primary weapons are the only ones that can be switched for unlocks, it's not possible to use the RPG-7. Unless of course you want an RPG-7 and the Eryx to carry around, and no smg.

But I wish we could switch the Eryx/SRAW for the RPG-7. It would really help against those tank whores.
