They said high turnover. No shit. I'd quit to if I worked 100 hours a week with no overtime pay. Hence the 14 million dollar class action suit EA lost to its employees. They've gotten to big for thier britches and now they can just churn out more madden games. F EA man. F em' hard in thier bum bums.
BUt goddamn BF2 was fun at 1.0.

I think this guy is trying to get publicity by ripping a well-known company. Who's ever heard of Pacific Crest Securities? Regarding NFS and NBA ratings dropping he said himself "reviews don't always correlate to sales". Exactly, a ton of people bought NFS: Carbon, including me.
EA has some of the best games out there: Battlefield, Need for Speed, C&C, MOH, etc etc etc. I'm going to keep playing them and not buy the 90% boring crap the other companies release. F.E.A.R. and COD1&2 being the rare exceptions.

Tarnished??? That happened WAAAAAY before BF 2142 came out and how many people have bought it? I think you are just a "Post-reply-whore"... I think your tarnshied.
Merry Christmas!

I played the BF2142 betas and demo. I wasn't impressed, and from all the crap I've seen them patching since its release, I can honestly say I'm glad they don't have my $50.
You're missing out. The beta and demo were only a glimpse of the full game. It rocks. People complain when they don't patch and then EA is proactive with a hotfix and people point and howl at that, too.Agent_Dung_Bomb wrote:

My problem isn't with the fact that they are patching, it's what they are patching. I realize no software is perfect and will need some work after release. However, the bugs this game had out of the box are completely unacceptable.Stingray24 wrote:

My other problem with the game is that there is such limited single player game play. Yes I know the best part of the games are the online play, but some times I don't have the time to sit down and join an online game. I'd like to be able to run the game and shut down when I need to. I also don't like the fact that they have added different game play modes without any single player support for them. It would be nice to be able to actually practice before you go online, screw your team, and have everyone and their dogs screaming that some one is a noob.
I have other EA games, and I never said I wouldn't own another EA game, I just said that I'm glad that they don't have my $50 for BF2142. EA isn't going to get my money just because. Either they will produce a more stable program out of the box, without massive bugs that should never have been allowed to be in the game before final release, or they will continue to not get my money.
I don't like EA cornering the NFL liscence for its MAdden games. No Need for Speed was ever good. Gran Turismo kills NFS. HOnestly how many racing/football games can you make? and also, how many racing games can you play? The last good racing games they did were the Burnout franchise. And that was a hell of a lot crazier than going around a track.
The two best games ever made by EA are Mutant League Football and General Chaos.
Overall, EA can thank John Madden for making them the powerhouse they are today. Madden games single handedly built EA. Now corporate EA will strip it apart.

Put Gran Turismo on PC and we'll see if it kills NFS. They're completely different games. You are obviously a fan of more technical driving games, which I'm starting to get into. GTR2 is on my list to buy. Most of the NFS series was lots of fun. If you don't like it, to each his own. But you cannot say they aren't good games. I'd still play the original NFS from Road&Track way back when if my PC would run such an old game. It's a classic.
I think EA just got too big to handle all the titles they produce ... it's the downfall of most companies IMO - I'm surprised they haven't outsourced everything to India by now.Mason4Assassin444 wrote:

As far as Madden, I agree - although I'm totally disappointed in the lack of progress made with it in the last 5 years. It seems like they just keep making the same exact game with a few things different everytime. The graphics aren't where they should be at all. I won't but another madden until it changes in a huge way...

I agree. TH eonly consistent update is the roster update which is usually screwed before the games releases. Sega made a good comeback a few years ago, hence EA buying the sole rights to the NFL liscence to corner the market. EA deserves all the pitfalls they endure. Greedy bastards.Warlord wrote:

Buying rights just makes good business sense. Damn them for wanting to make money for their stockholders!Mason4Assassin444 wrote:

YOu are correct. Good business practice. And along with the buku money you are gonna suck in because of it, you draw the ire of football fans who liked having a choice of what game they wanted to play as thier NFL team in. Reality check, not everyone is a madden sheep. But now there is no choice. YOu are a madden sheep or you dont play NFL football. YOu play BLITZ THE LEAGUE! Fucking awesome. But I feel for the rich guys who are stock holders. Pardon me.Stingray24 wrote:

Apparently they're doing something right, the game is still selling. If football fans are so concerned about having choices then why don't a couple companies throw down the coin to buy the rights from EA? I for one just like watching football, I think sports games in general suck compared to FPS, RTS, and racing games.Mason4Assassin444 wrote:

what makes me happy is my modded xbox. i love going to blockbuster and using a free rental to get an EA game and burn it on. its my own little way of saying fuck ea...thanks for releasing your xbox games without a program to not let it get burned ea, you saved me loads of money
Well the 360's are protected pretty well. The hardest thing is opening it up but once you do updating the firmware isn't to bad. Then a game is only a download away. http://v3.newzbin.com/search/?fpn=p& … at_done=-1Parker wrote:

If the BF2142 demo didn't make me go out and manually download a bunch of punkbuster files to play longer than three minutes without getting kicked, I'd be more impressed. If they'd optimize BF2's engine for faster loading times, I'd be more impressed. If they'd just release their freaking booster packs for free, I'd be pleased. If they'd port over 1942/Vietnam maps, as they did with the Official WWII Mod for BFV, I'd be stunned.
Anymore, EA is even more about sucking our wallets dry than they ever have been. Unfortunately, they have a stranglehold on many of the good franchises, so no luck in boycotting them completely.

Electronic Arts and its subsiduaries release the best games out there. They can provide the money to the top gaming studios - the only exceptions, as stated earlier, being Activision with CoD, and F.E.A.R. (don't know who published that one)
