Yeah, like the perspective that TORTURE IS INHUMANE AND WE SHOULDNT BE DOING IT IN A COUNTRY THAT ALLEGES TO BE GREAT AND FREE.

It isn't "Our torture isn't as bad as theirs!" Its THE FACT THAT WE TORTURE AT ALL. I dont give two fucks who is less humane than the US, I give two fucks that the US isnt humane.
Please tell me what techniques you consider torture?

And by the way, that is NOT what I am saying.  Please read where I responded to that.
Torturous ones. Ones that induce inhumane suffering, or unjust suffering, or just about any kind of unwarranted suffering.

Maybe you're the one that needs perspective on what torture is. First hand perspective. Do you deny chinese water torture as a form of torture? Because you'd seem pretty dumb if you told me chinese water torture isn't torture because it doesn't cause "irreprable bodily harm".
by your definitions, serving out a sentence in anything less than a hyatt is torture

The US isn't harsh compared to Egypt, but is that really the standard that should be applied? "Don't complain, at least we're better than Egypt!"
No, but when people cry and moan about the torturous US, they should step back and put things in perspective.

This is a good point, but I'd say America has never been as great as it thinks it is.  We're free and prosperous, but we could use a healthy dose of humility and realism.

In the War on Terror, I think we've reached a point where torture might be necessary under certain circumstances.  It may not be moral, but really, I think what the government needs to improve on is being more discrete about torture.  The fact that the media can find out we torture people is proof that the government isn't being secretive enough on that particular note.

Note that I don't support the government being secretive about most things, but this torture thing is very bad for our image when it's out in the open like this.
