when i want to record my gameplay with fraps happend this. when i hit the hotkey my screen is lagging like shit. if i hit the hotkey another time (not recording anymore) the lag is over. Is there a way to make fraps faster or just more RAM? or just new computer ?
fraps+bf2=laggy
hope that helps

For me, its just a little lag when i press the hotkey but then its ok. its maybe a sec or less...

I think you need to test out the different FPS settings to see which one works best for your computer. I'm still learning fraps myself. Also remember that the lower the FPS setting the poorer (if that is actually a word...lol) the quality of a finished product you will have.
Try turning it on?
Try to record the battlerecorder stuff...ingame recording makes ur pc lagging like hell !
ok thanks guys
Change the fraps recording fps to 30-40 or lower then try.
depending on what fps you run it at will have an effect
but mainly its the processor usage, unless u wanna upgrade to a 64 or a x2 or a c2d processor you wont be able to record perfectly on a standard 32 bit processor
meaning its gonna be sheite
only thing i can suggest is check weather the server allows bf2 recorder
in which case when you join the server open upn then console and type
demo.recorddemo "demoname"
if it allows it, it shud say recoirding bf2 demo
when u want to stop recording type demo.stoprecording
when you have finished open up the comunity tab and d/l your files (it will show automatically)
hovever sometimes the server has the auto record demo and hook so you dont necessarly need to type the console commands, the same principle applies community > my bf2 recordings
hope this helps in some ways

As said, its the cpu speed that matters, dual core will help (as it will assign the recording to the second unused core) also i think HDD speed plays a part in it, since if its runs at a higher rpm it can record the data faster, thus not lagging your system down.
hope im right in what i said and hope it helps

besides the before mention things.. lowering your settings as low as possible/ running fraps w/ half the window size will maybe make it managable depending on your computer specs.
also realize fraps creates HUGE files. a minute recording is over a few gigs space on your hd (it also depends on fps and resolution). fraps is not for the weak ;p

Best bet is to use the battlerecorder feature and then use frap to capture the game play you want. Therefore you play without an lag and you can still make cool vids.
