If the UK and US didn't fight the Germans, there wouldn't have been a 2 front war. That really killed Hitlers Reich.

So when the allies attacked North Africa it would have only been a one front campaign instead of a two fron campaign. Also without Britain the commonwealth (argueably) would have not got involved, well not all of it. Therefore less troops about.

Ok if Britian merely survived the war how come they stood their ground in North Africa, Malta etc. They made gains in Nroth Afric both at the start against the Italiens and at El Alamein.
Hitler didn't learn anything, if anyone didn't learn anything it was the allied Generals. The american (i dont know about the british) was to keep infantry divisions on the line and refuel them with a constant flow of replacements (I THINK 4 divisions the 4th, the 29th and 2 other had at least a 200% turnover and seven others had over 180%). Especially during the winter of 1944 training for these recruits was at a minimal, some even came onto the line not knowing how to fire the M!. Armor crews had never even been in a tank. Yet this trend was not altered. Bradley even put fuel and ammo on the supply lines instead of winter clothing because of the popular belief, oh it will be over by christmas.
