practice ... practice.... practice.... try differnet skills to find the one you like, work at it , then try something else . give it time till you find what you like, dont just trash the game after a few weeks

Unfortunately the later you get the game after its released, the harder it is to get into as so many people have become very good at it.
As ATAT_FUBAR has already said, the only way to get better is to practice a lot, stick with your team, watch how other people play and you will learn the tricks in no time.
Perhaps look for a clan who aren’t too bothered about skill, then you can learn together.

FYI: You can't change your name once the account is created. If you want a new name you're gonna have to start a new account and loose all your score and unlocks.

So if you're not very satisfied with "killaer111111" I suggest you think of a better one.

Eh, you're not as bad as some of the people I've seen.

1. Get Xfire
2. Add people
3. Get good people to pilot for you
4. Get points

OR

1. Just play and learn by dying a bit. I didn't have a >1 K/D for for awhile.

Here's a few tips:

Aim for the head/upper chest when you shoot.
Learn alternative routes in each map you play.
Always be a squad leader or be in a squad (your teammates can make you a better player).
If you see a vehicle, always jump in it and drive because it'll take you to where you want to go faster.
Choose a kit that fits your team/squad (for instance, if there never enough supply guys, be one).

And most importantly, winning the game comes first, personal stats a distant second.

Better than what I had when I started out. But I suddenly got my head around the whole idea of the game.

In helping yourself not die, I find being more wary of the whole premise of battlefield helps.

Tips:

1: Don't go capturing flags by yourself. Always have people around to help you. It's faster, and leaves you less open to attack whilst capturing the spawn. If you make a flag go neutral, a lot of enemies are going to be heading that way. At least with a squad you can have a chance of fighting back.

2: Avoid going on foor through vehicular hotspots. Certain places in maps will always have vehicles running through them, and you'll be an easy target. Get used to travelling in vehicles rather than on foot, and in city based maps, start using alleyways to move about rather than the main roads. The roads in a map like Karkand are dominated by the armour - the alleyways will keep you alive.

3: Your grenade launcher is not an effective anti tank weapon. Sure, you'll take a few bars off it, but that tank driver will be looking for where the nades came from. And those are grenades that could be put to use elsewhere.

4: When capping a point, don't just sit there and stare at one entrance. I keep moving, constantly strafing in a circle, turning around and checking exits for any sign of enemies.

5: The stationary rocket launchers are fantastic against armour. A good shot at the rear or the treads of a tank will grant you a kill.

6: Be wary of any supplies nearby. You never know where you will find a medic kit that you dearly need.

7: If on a building roof, and you come under fire, check the direction of fire indicators on screen. Too many times when I am a sniper do I see people just hide behind an object and stay still, hoping that i'm on the opposite side.

You can use that account for regular BF2 as well.

If you're in a good squad, as has been said, it's a good way to improve your skills. Going solo's alright if you want to work as a sniper, otherwise not. Also keep the plane practicing on single player or empty servers

You have Xfire?.. any program i can reach you with?, also do you have a mic?, Mics help alot ingame.
I can help you learn to play a little bit, if i can teach a 9 year old kid to play BF2 i can teach you.

EDIT:: i wanted to put this out there, not everyone can have a posotive K/D because if they did everyone would have 1.0, someone has to have a shitty K/D and someone has to have a nice K/D so it doesnt mean your a crappy player cause of yer K/D it just means you have been whored on, ass kicked, bitch slaped, or any other form of abuse us higher ranked guys put on you. we are cruel, just get used to it =P

go prone and shoot burts or single shots for long range targets. <-- that's the best advice i can give that hasn't alredy been said.

Knowing when to give up, if your current tactic isn't working stop, try something else. If there's a tank camping a spawn don't be fodder for it if you're not good enough to take it down yourself, if possible spawn elsewhere.

Don't get uptight, if someone is really annoying you (killing you, bunny hopping etc) leave the server, I know it's harsh but the last thing you want is being owned when you're new to the game. People say playing against difficult opponents is good but not when they're wiping the floor with you.

Play single player for vehicle practice. If you suck in a jet, load up cleansweep on single player, if you suck at attack choppers load up dragon valley or dalian plant (think it's Dalian anyway) if you suck with transport, load up cleansweep. A lot of pilots practiced in single player, the bots are the worst gunners ever though. You can get some basic TV guided missle shooting though as they fly in straight lines.

Shooting on the ground wise my best advice is just to practice, find a style that suits you. Some people use the guns on single shot, all of the time, close range or long.

Tanks or TOW's aim for the tracks whenever you can.

Ignoring arseholes and keyboard warriors (retards who insult people over the Internet, yeah they're hard guys the lot of 'em) you'll get the "OMG YOUR TEH NOOB" and the like regardless of what you do. Own a guy hard and he'll call you a n00b.

Best thing to do is to not argue with them just play, while they're busy insulting you they're not concentrating on their game and generally die quite a lot because of it. If it's really upsetting you though or just can't be arsed with the constant bitching, just leave the server. A lot of us here have had to leave servers due to complainers.

Expect to be kicked and sometimes banned... A lot. Not just because of TKing, but because wanker admins want to.

Check out... http://www.secretsofbattlefield.com/hitpoints.php

The most important one though... Have fun, if you're not having fun in a server, leave and find a new one. You won't get better at the game you'll just get pissed off and end up playing something else for a while.

See you on the Battlefield

Santa gave me a great gift - lots of kids got both games and its a noob feeding frenzy!!!  I got kids standing there looking around, got over 40 kills today just running over troops walking in the middle of the road

Think total score this weekend from Friday to sunday night was over 1000 points.  Best weekend I've had since I started playing the full version in late August.  WOOHOO!!!

ALT-F4 kicks in the aim-bot target sensor.  If you press ALT and F4 at the same time you can aim easier, this is what I use.  GOOD LUCK

No, don't shoot on sight. I have a tendency to do that sometimes and all of them end up in TKs.
