Unfair.  I hate to use that word when it comes to business, but they are unfair.  I am referring to the release of Flight Simulator X. 

I knew that I would have to buy a new computer in order to run that game.  So, I have a computer on order right now that is custom built. (about $2000)  So, last night I was watching the military channel, and saw a commercial for FSX.  They showed some in game footage, and to my amazement, some of it was choppy.  If Microsoft can't even find a computer to run their game smoothly, how can they expect the consumer to find one?  I realize making games bigger and better drives the industry by forcing people to upgrade, that I accept.  But this is out of control.

You mean when the plane (the passenger liner, i dont know the plane number things) was flying that the screen and it seemed to lag right? It didn't lag anywhere else though.

Well, I know it's a bit of a crap argument, but you could say that it's been 3 years since the last MS flight sim, it will probably be 3 years till the next and in 3 years time I'm sure high end machines will be running it fine, especially through DX10 which is more efficient.

True.  But I hate the fact I buy a new comp and it will most likely only run that game at medium slider settings.

get  a quadcore, quad GPU, and a phase change cooling system and youll be at a good 30 FPS

How will you get any benefit from a quad GPU or CPU? FSX only uses a single GPU, SLI is no good for it. Nor does FSX take advantage of multiple core CPUs. Seems like a rushed release by MS if you ask me.

But it's always been that way.  Brand new high-end games don't just blaze, even on the latest hardware out.  I remember when Doom 3 came out, the hardware available at the time was lucky to get 40 fps.  Even in as short a time as it's been, the systems out now can push it beyond 100 fps.
