Hi there,

I wanted to play some BF2 just now and I load up my game, join a server, been in it for 3 minutes. Voila, CTD.. goddammit..-.-
Ok, so I restart the game, join a server, get in, baaaaam!! CTD..FFS!!
Again, I restart the game, now it CTD's before I can even connect to my account server.
I restart the game again..I click on ''join server'' BAAAM!!! CTD..

That's 4 CTD's in like 10  minutes.. does anyone else have this?

No, but patching was a bitch for me. And it takes like 30 seconds to log into my EA account, compared to before at like 5 seconds. It also takes longer to load the freaking maps.

Its all apart of EA's Plan to make BF2 so unplayable that people finally get pissed off at it and buy 2142.

Well apart from a few "You have lost connection to the server" messages, my patch has been fine.  I find the maps load faster to as opposed to Lt's case.

I have exactly the same problem! The only thing that seems to work is re-installing bf2...

although it only worked for about 2-3 rounds and then as soon as I want to connect to a server - ist back to the desktop!

There seem to be 2 possible solutions to our problems... After searching the web for similiar problems by other users I found several answers:

1. Start BF2 in the Win2K Compatibility Mode (seems to work for me)

2. If you have your Windows Updates on Automatic you might have installed the Update KB917422 if this is the Case you have to install the Update Hotfix KB924867!

Hope this helps you...

I posted this in another thread, try it and see if it helps:

Go here: www.ccleaner.com and download and run CCleaner on your PC. Don't check anything under the advanced options under the cleaner part though. After running the cleaner, run the registry cleaner, (that's the icon under the cleaner icon.) It'll give you the option of backing up the registry before it changes anything. Run the cleaner and the registry cleaner a few times until it doesn't find anything, then completely shut down and restart the PC. See if that helps with the CTDs.
