England hasn't exactly been spawning good players as of late. You have the good few prospects, but they are always matched by another player overseas. amiright?Mek-Izzle wrote:

Its an easy mistake to think Arsenal are infact and English team, we have all done that in the past don't worry.Bf2-GeneralArnott wrote:

No, the one with Arsenal and thingy, then Chelsea as the opponent vs Fernabach or whatever. Oh damn.

Except for Walcott, the rest barely play football for them. I don't know whether that says something about Arsenal or the situation of English Players. It's not surprising that England can't qualify for the Euro Championships, yet a team that has barely any English players is top of the domestic league.
I say that tongue in cheek really as every team now has approx 30% Max English players in the starting XI.Gooners wrote:

Cardiff for eg have 1 or 2 Welsh boys playing. 17 and 21, the rest are Scottish, English, Irish and Dutch
I think if you can make your "Back Bone" English you always stand a chance.
Rio - Scholes/Hargreaves/Carrick-Rooney
Terry-Lampard
Carragher-Gerrard
(Can't put Arsenal in this list) but as of late they have been playing the best football in the prem.
United have the most english out of the top four. Though two of them are older players (Rio, Scholes), while The other three are younger.1927 wrote:

Back in the day, most teams had an English Backbone.
