So, I repair computers and yesterday we had this computer at work that was going slow, virusses etc... and every now and then a comment about low disk space.

So I checked and indeed, the HD was almost full (40gb hd). So I decided to help the ignorant fellow and delete his temp folder.

There were 75.000+ files in there which consumed more than 9 gigabyte of disk space... It took the damn machine 30 minutes to clean it up.

So, for all you ignorant people:

c:\document and settings\username\local settings\temp -> delete them all

(local settings is a hidden folder btw).

NoPixButItDidHappen.

And... how big is yours?

edit: You can always type: "%temp%" without the quotes in the run command and you should get there right away in both xp and vista

in vista it is: C:\Users\(Your Username)\AppData\Local\Temp I think, but not 100% sure, just use the %temp%

Another place to delete "temp" files is located here:

program files, divx, movies, temporary downloaded files. I'd get close to 1gb of files in there back from viewing stage6. It's possible all sites using the divx player will get stored there.

610MB, 208 files.
188MB, 902 files on the gaming computer (Lol, what a file/size ration difference!)

I remember running CCLeaner on a mates computer a little while ago. 7GB. 7GB of pure shit that's been gathering since thye X850XT was top-end.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

That's because you don't install unneccesary shit. My bed computer (The 610MB one) has got tons more programs and shit software than the gaming rig, on which I tend to only install the neccesary.
