Earthquake in the Manchester area!

I'm not joking, i was just lying in bed listning to music, and the whole house started to shake, then car alarms and house alarms went off!

It lasted about 10 seconds, jesus that was weird.

Anyone nearby felt anything similar?

Earthquakes are rare anywhere in England, mainly because as far as i know, we are nowhere near any sort of tectonic activity, and have no active volcanoes for thousands of miles around.

That was weird, i'm assuming it was a quake, i've never felt anything like it!

Just googled it, and checked msn.co.uk, nothing yet.

No it didnt feel destructive at all, just stuff in my room shook around a lot, books, beer glasses, xbox etc. Lots of people outside now, looks like it's woke this street up at least.
