I know Bf2s has a wide and varied following with different beliefs. I'm interested to see if, like the title suggests, there are any here. If so please tells us YOUR personal views on Scientology. Is it a viable religion? Does its views clash with other religions? Most importantly....is it a cult?

I mean no offence with the questions I ask, but I guess they may have asked Jesus these same questions when Christianity arose. (just an example)

Please tell us your opinions.

it's an power-hungry, elitist cult with a huge financial interest. More like power-lobbying on a spiritual base. And the pseudo-religious science fiction crap about xenu is so absurd it's laughable.

And as far as their views go, they're truly undemocratic and criminal. Google "Operation Snow White" and you'll get an idea.

In germany, they have been under constant supervision by federal authorites since 1997, since the courts believe that Scientology may present a threat to the democratic values. Because of that, Scientology is not reckognized as a religion in germany.

as far as I am concerned, they can go die in a fire.

If Scientology is still around in 2000 years time, they'll be talking about how they were "persecuted" for being a "new" religion. Just like they all were when they started.

To sum up: All religions are the fucking same, well the western ones at least (Islam/Christianity/Judaism etc.. )

I mean, Scientology even uses words like "Church" and other Christian ones.

well, at least the catholic church doesn't conduct "auditings" and charges people for church visits. THey'll also allow me to speak to non-catholic family members. I cherish my personal freedoms, you know.

Have you read about xenu,OT levels, aliens, and the other science fiction stuff behind scientology ?

Since Bruce Hales was made world leader in 2002 the traditionally apolitical Brethren have become involved in the re-election of conservative governments.

They reportedly spent $500,000 on a campaign to re-elect George Bush as US President and the same amount to run a campaign in New Zealand against Labour and the Green Party.

I suck at quoting, but you mentioned above it´s a money hungry organisation that´s true, but is/was the church any different? The land and property that has been stolen/taken by the church is huge, not long ago we were forced in Sweden to pay church tax...
