i disagree with this, i think it should still be done by mods, i believe titles MAY get out of handchuyskywalker wrote:
Will we still be able to have user titles? If so, will they still have to be set by a mod, or would we be able to do this ourselves?
Right now there are no titles. Based on what I've been seeing, this would not be a difficult thing to add. I think on trackr I may let those be user set. Right now, however, this is one of those features which is up in the air because it's not a default feature with Drupal.
before the site opens, will there be a countdown?
Will there be aids on Trackr?
No srsly, hope it's gonna be great!
em and strong! thats poopy!
Once the new software is open to the public, you can make a request to a Moderator who can then set it up for you.SEREMAKER wrote:
you mentioned groups --- where can we go to petition for a group ?
I have an idea about one - The Military Mafia .... members SERE, SEVEN, Gunslinger, Infedel and anyone else you has served and bleed for their country
any particular mod or are all of you helping outOrangeHound wrote:

Just for the records, when was the Trackr project started? Did it begin with the desire for more subforums for games like WiC, Bioshock, Crysis, etc., or was it during BF2S's downtime last autumn? Or was it just recently? Sorry if this is a bit unimportant, but I'd just like to know how long this has been a secret.
Trackr has been in plans at one stage or another since at least September 2005 ... it has morphed and changed over that time, and even once being abandoned for a long period.Havok wrote:

cant wait for tracker. It sounds like it may be a better place to track my stats on bot BF2 and COD4.
Not Sure if it hasn't been Posted. anyway..
For the love of god, make a thread/section for "Introduce yourself!" That is noticable to new people.
The 30 "Hey" "hello" "Hey BF2s!" per day (which I never get to see) is kinda a mod's time waster. It would be nice for BF2s, but since its shutting down, something like this should be considered for Trackr.

Definitely. Almost every forum I visit has an introduction thread, or a board dedicated to that (overdoing it IMO. Thread is good enough).RoosterCantrell wrote:

I'm not exactly sure what you are writing about ... but ... we do have an "Introduce Yourself" forum for new people already. It is part of the new registration process.RoosterCantrell wrote:

Naw, I think he's talking about something public instead of the private thing you have going. regular members can't see people's introductions... at least I can't... and it's better to introduce yourself to the WHOLE community instead of just the authorities.OrangeHound wrote:

Then start a thread ... the point of the "Introduce Yourself" forum on BF2s is not so much introductions but rather the screening-out of inappropriate and banned members.djphetal wrote:

makes sense, but without a place to put the "Hello!" threads, new users might not post one altogether. A subforum for public introductions would be easy to implement, easy to clean up, pretty spam free, and welcoming to new members. I see absolutely no downside to this.OrangeHound wrote:

But like I said, the screening deal makes perfect sense too...
Anyone got any idea when it is gonna be up? By the summer? Next two months? ...

That's the thing though. I think alot of people start a "hello" thread. but by the time I click on it, it defaults to the thread removed page. maybe it's not a introduction. but all I ever see is "hello" or "(membername) saying hello" so some mod is deleting those. and that's fine, because there would be thousands of those, but as of now, I don't see a section for it, and it appears the introductions are deleted.OrangeHound wrote:

The filtering process, I can understand. But that's fine, having it makes sense. I am just saying for Trackr, having an actual new members section is an idea that should be considered, because BF2s really doesn't have one.
