I just admire their doggedness and the fact their coach stamps out prima donna behaviour (to my limited knowledge anyway).djphetal wrote:

Enjoy the commercials. Why bother going to a Super Bowl party today when all you need is a copy of Madden NFL 08 to predict the winner for you? Yeah, we know this is all in good fun and shouldn’t be taken seriously but it will be interesting to see if the Madden predictions are even close.
A simulation of this Sunday's championship game run in "Madden" by publisher Electronic Arts Inc showed the Patriots taking an early lead with a pair of touchdowns by running back Laurence Maroney. The Giants pulled within one point in the third quarter, but a pass from quarterback Tom Brady to receiver Randy Moss helped make the Patriots the first team to record a perfect 19-0 season, EA said in a statement.

For the Giants, Plaxico Burress' guarantee that New York will beat the New England Patriots 23-17 in the Super Bowl Sunday is nothing more than an outspoken player showing confidence.

The Giants were quick to defend Burress, whose history of talking out of turn dates to his days at Michigan State.
Before a game against Michigan, he was so confident in his ability that he said it would be like taking candy from a baby.
[...]
That brings us back to Michigan State and Burress' junior year.
Remember that 'taking candy from a baby' comment?
Well, Burress went out the following weekend and caught 10 passes for a school-record 255 yards and a touchdown in a 34-31 win over Michigan.
By the way, Michigan made the game close, getting two late touchdown passes from someone named Tom Brady.
