Why would you buy a singleplayer game that doesnt need any internet activation whatsoever?

Oh come on- yes the graphics (of scenery) are amazing. vanilla body models are ugly unless you get a good mod or four. But I did enjoy it and it was a good game...

Great game play? No, not really, no horse combat (unless you get a mod not made by Bethesda) even with that no Bows off horse back. Dialogue trees are pretty much nothing and childish. Just click on everything that is highlighted, you can not do it wrong or miss something. And are very repetitive for such a state of the art game.

You can not do "whatever you want", in this game? Hell you can't even NAME your house or horse. Instead it is called "MY HOUSE"...wow... such immersion. The game has no dialogue choices, your game will play just like mine, same choices no matter how you play. Only black and white choices, you do or you do not. Not much a role playing game. The story is good, lots of decent quests (though why buying furniture for a house is considered a quest is beyond me, I did not know a trip to IKEA counted as questing). You do not kill kids (as mentioned they are not in the game). You can kill an old feeble man to get into a guild. You can do every Guild Quest and the main quest. Apparently no one in Tamriel will realize it you. One moment your a paladin like good guy, the next leader of evil then head mage...no one is wise to it, no memories. You get lead by the hand to do all quests (just follow the green arrow). You can not "break" a quest or piss of a character to the point you blow it.

But even having said that, I enjoyed it (with a lot of mods and DLC) but to call it a great game and a game that gives you choice is a discredit to games that actually did give you choices: Ultimas, System Shock, Deus Ex, Fallout 1/2, Arcanum, Baldur's Gate and games of that type.  Bottom line VERY pretty to look at, but not much depth. Not what I expect for 50 bucks.

You may be right about the fan (annoying, Nasty creature) I downloaded  a mod to make him a woman. Forgot about him.

But I never "saw" him as a kid, maybe young (late teens early 20s) but not a kid. That may be because he had the same voice as several hundred older NPC's.
but even if he is considered a kid, then one? Uno kid in the WHOLE game.

I guess you could bring in the Firefox argument here: while it may not be as good as some games by default, some of the things introduced by TES:Oblivion are very innovative, and for the rest, there are mods.

Dude, there is this baby massacre mission, and then there is the graphic sex scene with full frontal 3D nudity and you make your own porno! Then you have to sell crack to children and if they say no you get to kill them for bonus exp and magic armor! Your character has to do heroin just to beat the first mission! It's totally awesome! I love the part where all those kids run up and are like, u iz hero??, then you decapitate them all and at the end it counts how many heads you collected and the blacksmith turns them into custom armor!

The only aspect of piracy that I support is the 'try before you buy' philosophy. I don't trust game demos, and view them as test-driving a car with only one wheel and a feature-bare dash (or an abnormally buggy vehicle that's been optimized a hundred times over for a trip around the same block...over and over again). I'd rather get the whole picture. Savage 2 earns kudos for its full-version trial period method.
