USM - while officially the republic of Ireland remained neutral, thousands upon thousands of Irish men fought in World War Two, they went and joined British or Canadian Regiments (I think an estimated 10000 died in British regiments) and we were very present on the Battlefields of Europe long before Americans were, hell we were even there fighting for the Germans too!  That's why we're known World Wide as the "Fighting Irish" you could even find us Fighting in The Mexican or Spanish civil wars.. you find us on most battlefields on the planet so wind yer neck in..
