I noticed someone just now who had a name that was slightly bigger than everyone else's:

I then noticed some symbol in his name before his clan tag, so that could be the answer but I have also noticed peoples names having colours in them so how is that done also?

Name hacks generally, allowed in some servers and disallowed in others.

People still play this game, its kinda hard to keep motivated after you reach general in a month.

I play BF2142 and CF2142.

I know that some people edit some file on their pc to do this but im not sure what the file is and how to do it so I was hoping someone could tell me.

You can do it in BF2, I did it once...

Theres a file or something somewhere that you can change, but I cant really remember...

You can make your name orange and thats the only one I know. Type |ccc| in your clan tags the | are by your right bracket and above enter on your keyboard. Now they don't show up when you type them so it should look like this ccc. But when you join the game your name will be orange. I got banned from servers though because noob admins thought it was a name hack lol. I was camping a corridor on titan and I was shooting at one guy then 2 more come in and I kill all 3. I get banned right after lol.

Well the only way I know to change your name in BF2142 is to put |ccc| as your clan tag, it will make your name orange.
