This hasn't surprised me the slightest. Ben Bernanke had to get a refresher from top hedge fund managers just to see how bad things are. But the problem has been around for a while, and the Fed has been hiding it. Inflation is much higher than what the Fed is officially telling us and the Fed said M3 was too expensive and didn't provide useful information. Yea... of course not, the numbers must obviously be wrong when M3 is reporting inflation is at 16% when you are printing dollars 24/7, right Ben? The real hard numbers show we have been in a weak recession for some time and I see a major correction coming soon. Either hyper inflation or deflationary depression are not far fetched. The less you acknowledge a growing problem, the less prepared you are and the worse it will be.
Oh but we are not the only ones in trouble. The derivatives crisis (Warren Buffet says derivatives are financial weapons of mass destruction) is unraveling and the ECB, Asian banks, the Fed and others have been pumping liquidity into the market and it really isn't helping. Everyone is going to get burned. Liquidity won't help insolvency.
Now is the time to invest in gold or silver while they are still cheap. Gold is expected to rise from $890 to $1,000 an ounce in 08, or higher if things get really ugly.

When the federal reserve lowers interest rates again in the next coming weeks trying to stop the stock market freefall the euro will go over the 1.5 dollars and in a time frame of about 3months the US will be in serious pain. That is china doesn't decide to get rid of the dollar cause if that appens you will see euro rocketing to 1.5-1.9, don't even have to tell you what will come for the US citizens.

You have to ask yourself what is the right thing to do and what candidate talks about your real issues not the issues of a small elite. If you're smart enough and love your country you should vote for Ron Paul.
