When I bought the game, I just jumped right into the multiplayer. It was the best thing ever. I forgot about the SP, after seeing that it didn't work because of stupid iw3sp.exe errors, I then downloaded a no dvd crack and it sorted out the sp.

It wasn't worth it.

Does anyone else get the feeling that the SP is really shitty?

All it seems like is the same environments every level, and they throw 100000000000 shitty enemies at you, actually scratch that, the enemy count is infinite unless you cross the invisible lines that stop them from spawning. I swear to god I've only completed half of the missions yet it's feeling like I've already seen more than twice the entire real life population of Arabs/Russians/Marines/SAS personnel killed than there are in the world. What the hell gives?

The guns are weak as shit in single player too, it's either a headshot or they'll get up again and combine that with an infinite number of enemies.....it feels like bullshit. That's all I can say. The only decent bit so far has been

Spoiler (highlight to read):
the ending of the ship level, the AC-130 bit and the small MK19 Grenade Launcher Cameo, and the little death sequence of Jackson

The rest has been shit. Seriously, what the fuck is up with the infinite number of enemies.

I can't even be arsed finishing the single player, I was on that Azerbeijan mission and I was picking away at the enemies until I realised that they won't stop spawning until I cross some line, and that there's no such thing as killing them all off and then moving on.

They nailed the MP spot on though, but seriously this is one of the worst single player games I've ever played. I'd like to mentiont that the SP isn't hard at all, just.....really crap.

I like Single player better.

Single player for me is like playing in slow motion.

Multiplayer for me is like I'm playing in slow motion, but nobody else is.

That's what I'm talking about. Nothing better than MP and Hardcore mode.

I actually feel like I can stay still for a couple of seconds and pick out the enemy and play better on hardcore MP than on Single Player, It feels like Starship Troopers or Serious Sam with the amount of enemies I have to kill.

MP is amazing, SP is pretty good.  I would still rather play MP.

I actually liked single player. The enemy AI don't grenade spam, and the friendly AI actually know how to work as a team and accomplish objectives.

SP Rocked!

One of the best SP campaigns for COD yet.  Can't wait for an expansion pack.

MP on hardcore, preferably realism, is the shit though.  Awesome fun.

What I hate most about MP is that it's so fast to rank up, even 5-star generals are complete noobs sometimes.

At least in BF2, you can tell that someone has played a very long time and is at least proficient at the game based on their high rank (although there are a few noobs out there still).

Basically, # high-rank noobs in CoD4 >> # high-rank noobs in BF2.

No one seems to want to work as a team in CoD4, especially when it comes to S&D or HQ.

I completely disagree with you.  Single player was awesome.  I don't like the infinite enemy thing either, but the graphics, weapons, and storyline were all great.

In most places you can kill all the AI before moving forward...they aren't infinite its just a better use of time to push forward.

I thought the SP kicked ass, and I didn't even mind the length either.

The AI aren't infinite.  It's just that most people aren't patient enough to kill them all before moving on.  There is a line, however, to stop the rest of them spawning, so a lot of people try to cross that line as quickly as possible.  I prefer to kill the bots, pick up the ammo, and repeat.

That said, the level where the nuke goes off, when you have to rescue some recon team, is damn annoying.  Too many RPGs and not enough heavy guns on your part.

I thought the SP was pretty interesting.

Alot of "watching" but it's bearable.

Seems like AI spams more grenades at higher levels.

The increasing difficulty levels & arcade mode add to long term playabilty.

SP was really good, but not my kind of SP. Something like total war is good for that.

Call of Duty Single Player has always been like that! But I loved it. All Ghillied Up etc was just amazing!

I can understand not liking it but it is easily one of the best SP campaigns for its length, it felt like a movie. I mean the ending was just awesome, pure awesome.

I almost quit playing SP because of that mission.

I have the Brady guide and I talked to people but it took me forever to get past the field with the armour & troops.

me + sniper kit = fail

I'll give this SP a 6.5/10

No level made me feeling the same feeling I had playing the Stalingrad and Berlin levels in CoD1, or the Kharkov level in UO, or the Ponte Du Hoc level in CoD2. But it was still decent I guess. I'll need to wait for the realism mods to come out to appreciate it properly

Some bits were good. The AC-130 level I could probably keep on playing again and again. The last marine level and the mini-death-level after was well done. As was the last level.

the SP campaign is awesome. intense story and action. sure the enemies are kind of stupid and there are a little bit too much of them. but it was worth playing.
