Im gonig from bf 2142 / bf2 to COD4 what do i need to know for multiplay and change of gameplay? Crouch or prone spamming best weopan great map to play etc

Crouch is best. Prone doesn't really give you much of an advantage, and it's hard to turn quickly and you can't sit up against corners like in BF2. MP5 is a good weapon to start with; so is the M16. But the M16 has a disadvantage at very close ranges. With the MP5 and other SMGs like it (such as the P90), you can side strafe and spray without zooming in. Also, remember you can "cook" grenades: you can pull the pin and hold them in your hand, shortening the time before they explode. Just be sure to throw it away before it does.

so i have to unlock weapons again? Do they go up in tiers and what is bets tier or w/e it is to go up.
Doesnt go up in tiers. You get ranks and u get a new gun per few ranks as well as new challenges you can do. It should only take 20 hours to get rank 55. Which is good. Because bf2 ranking took the fucking piss.
COD4 is a lot faster paced than BF2 because the maps are so much smaller. There's always someone behind you.

I made top rank in a day and a bit.
Total combined time being a day and a bit.
so far im not very impressed. Seems like alot of nade sapmming and powerful higher rank guns and skills.

The ranks are easily hackable, i ain't sayin how, and I didn't do it, but it's very easy.
BF2 has MUCH more strategy involved, where as COD4 firefights are much faster paced and more spray and pray IMO.
So, I'd say, if we were comparing, each game has something the other doesn't.

just remember the basics of BF2 /2142 games and ur good to go. its different from COD4. the maps are smaller and you are not getting blasted by someones tank or plane since they dont exist. except if you get a 5 kill streak.Backupwayback wrote:

best sniper rifle : r700. deadly accurate.
best SMG= tie between MP5 and p90, i love the p90 with doubletap, . double tap increases your rate of fire significantly. and chews up ammo very quickly.
best assault rifle= g36 or m16.
best LMG, m60
just get all the perks and unlocks and youll have fun. the only problem i have with COD4 is the lag. there is a bit more lag than Bf games.

If you want to get to 55 quickly then play shipment using a Lmg, 3 nades (when you open this perk), sonic boom and martyrdom. You'll end with a 2-3 kdr.

I'm going to get Call of Duty 4 (since I completed SP with a friend's copy) too and I'd just like to know if there's any lasting appeal. With BF2 there's the massive battlefield where it's easy to pick up and difficult to master in so many different aspects. COD4 to me looks very similar to Counter-Strike deathmatch gameplay with unlocks and airstrikes which can be fun but is there a lasting appeal? Also, when you achieve the highest rank, can you create a new account and get a new one or is it the same system as COD2 with a "select your name and that's it" approach?

i think that prestige mode is for consoles. you get to highest rank then do the prestige mode thing , then you restart your ranks etcc but with a star next to your name, you can get more prestige stars if you do this several times.

Try using a real gun (like the AK or something), play tactical ect = no profit. killed by randoms with nades/air strikes/choppers ect. Use P90, run in holding click button = over 1000 points at least, per round....Great concept and all, but for small maps nades shouldn't be a one hit kill, nor should you have under any circumstance, more then one.
