Surprise comes to mind when not a single bug fix is highlighted in the interviews DICE and whomever have had about the upcoming patch. Off the top of the head, these problems come to mind: your allies who sometimes don't appear on radar and have red names, the tapping of the side of a moving armored vehicle resulting in immediate obliteration, the instant death when attempting to run and jump over a corner created by a vehicle parked against a wall, the 1 shot tank kill from another, regular tank shell, the deaths where your player somehow instantaneously dies when exitting a vehicle at high speed (supposedly a clip by the tail of the vehicle they were driving, though this is infeasible when regarding the fact that deaths like this happen when merely travelling in a straight path), the immediate death of your player when exiting your transport while on its side, and the complete stomping of a death a tank can issue to an APC just by ramming it into a fairly snug corner. All of these concerns need dealing with, but why hasn't there been any word on them?

Anyways, this new fix that's coming into play is very fucking retarded, because bunny hopping will still maintain prevalence throughout all servers. Should this change should be accomodated by a jump restriction (that of which hinders your ability to jump only after being hit by enemy fire), the "Bouncing Betty's" of today could be your fresh, militarized shooters of tomorrow. This would stop bunny hopping nubaronis (nub-uh-roh-neez) in their tracks, and (if they were unaware of the new bar on jumping) maybe even surprise them. That way, there would be a heavy deterrence on this unrealistic methodology many have construed for firefights. Instillation of the ideas of desired utilization for the three stances would be widespread.

On top of that, the fact that no infantry option will be added to modify the amount of time it takes for a claymore's motion recognition to activate is also a downer. Players also need to be able to pick up their own, misplaced C4. Engineers can retrieve their explosives, why can't Spec Ops? Another factor regarding these explosive ordinances is the denotion of their being. Each friendly variant of this volatile equipment should have a different color coded skull: either yellow, orange, or red. The division of this scheme would be based upon the relative threat to the majority of players (infantrymen). C4 would don the red skull, claymores the orange, and AT mines the yellow. Each and every one of the past citations needs certain implementation, as all of these areas create disruption in gameplay.

Salutations,
Kniero

(P.S. The AK101 is way too fucking strong for a 5.56 caliber weapon. This son of a bitch needs to be nerfed.)

the community keeps on complaining, but nonetheless far-away-from-gameplay-programmers just keep on destroying an almost wrecked (deadpatchednobugsfixedbuteverythingelsechangedfuckedup) game...

Yeah but they're fixing bunnyhopping though right? That's gotta be the most important problem, far more important than bugs...

Makes you wonder what EA will improve (cripple more like) to appease the whingers in the future.

No, they aren't fixing bunny hopping. In ma' main post it says what they are doing as far as we can tell, based on their interviews with some gaming websites so far.

Bug fixes have come with each of the patches, few of them actually being listed prior to the patch release.

I am sure several of these bugs will be removed with 1.2.

Well there's no official word as of yet (not on the BF2 main site anyway) but it's been said that they're removing bunny hopping whilst shooting and dolphin diving from the game.

Only going off what I've heard, which we all are really until EA tell us what they're actually going to fix.

Hopefully they'd decide against all the stupid implements (8 rockets for Attack helicopters?)

No, there has been official word on the subject. Just because a blatantly obvious status quo isn't provided doesn't mean one isn't lingering around. It may somehow seem evasive, but really, it is pretty apparent anyways. If you check the link to the transcript with their (if not their, than DICE's [I think it was DICE's]) interview with X-fire, you will get all the juice there.

Anyways, couldn't any reworking of material already present within the BF2 system be considered a bug fix? The only other venue left patching is the implementation of new content. Just kind of odd that the highlight of this patch is the supposed end-all for bunny hopping, when (if it really comes as [previously] commented on) it isn't even done right.

Teh suckaroni (est le foOz),
Kniero

(P.S. If you were truly an inquisitional little chap, you would've already been up-to-date about your last curiosity - their reasoning behind this new addition [or rather, deduction] is that it was an official order from a high-up in the company [that comment by DICE was from another interview, I'll see if I can find it])

* * * * EDIT * * * *

Found it...

http://www.totalbf2.com/features/interv … -dice2.php

The exact quote is as follows: "Armando: This was a request directly from the franchise director. He felt that the helicopter payload was a little excessive and felt that this change was needed."

This interview was also with DICE. How fucking retarded, lmao.

First of all, you should probably get your patch news from the official source and not a fansite forum.  It's here; http://forum.eagames.co.uk/viewtopic.ph … 606693c002

Now if you read that post carefully you will notice "We'll be announcing further additions to this list, but that will have to wait until the next update. This is NOT the complete list of items we are working on. As we have more items go through testing and we are sure of a change we will update you."

So to all your complaints about them not fixing things you think they need to fix, there is no way of knowing if they actually are fixing it.  So stop complaining.  Second, bunnyhopping? Can you really just not aim a little higher like the rest of us?  It's not really a HUGE problem.

I don't think it's a problem. My point is that they're aiming to take this aspect out of the BF2 gameplay, and failing miserably. I have no reason to believe they are "fixing" anything else other than some landmine and helicopter crap. The chances of all of the issues being resolved are slim to none man.

* * * * EDIT * * * *

BTW, I forgot to say FUCK YOU. You show a total disregard for the integrity of my post. My links and sources are OFFICIAL INTERVIEWS. Get a fucking brain.

I just realized your blatant, bullshit-filled mind-set after making the first half of this reply and had to add the rest of my thoughts. It seems quite fucking petty of you to don a superioristic facade when you even lack the ability to make simple realizations of your own (i.e. if it still isn't clear enough, my shit is official, let alone the fact that you couldn't even understand the [obviously simple] intentions behind my comments about their "fix" for bunny hopping).

(P.S. Sorry if my aggressive defense offended anyone, it's just that it seems to me that egotistical idiots need know their place [That of which doesn't include unworthy egotism and aggressive disposition of another's stance, but an attentive, questioning perspective grounded in a desire for comprehension].)

I wonder if you guys realise that a major corporation like EA puts bugs in games on purpose so that gamers like us will buy expansion packs with bug fixes or updates to get hit points for thier websites, its just all part of thier marketing strategy and I really dont like it at all.

Ohh I'm in on that!

I mean come on, every time they release a patch theres about a dozen more things that they make a problem with, so they can just resolve it in another patch.  Its getting boring and just stupid, and as Sgt.Skinnister said, most corporations will put the bugs in the games, its a sad truth, and its time it changed.  But thats about as likely to happen as hell freezing over.

In next patch (1.3?) maybe that the EA/DICE charwoman wants soldiers in shorts and they will implement it. We'll see.

I wouldn't put it past EA to release patch 1.245895632 which will include the Army's "Don't ask, Don't Tell" Policy where the new Queer Medics will no longer have shock Paddles, they'll just "Blow" the other soldiers back to health. And don't forget the new hot pink camo for those medics.

Patch 1.01 created the huge memory leak problem
Patch 1.12 they had the idiocy to include fucking flashbangs into the vanilla game
Patch 1.2? Well let's start with the heli crap and end with the jumping crap.

lol man, you're crazy. You sound like one of those conspiracists who's completeley "off his rocker", heheh. Seriously though, that isn't one of their techniques. The only strategy I see them using is one that hinges on their consumers (and basically innate) desire for the latest and greatest. To me, it doesn't seem like they're trying to pawn anything off with this new booster pack set-up they're coming out with. But I could be wrong. If they continue to include fresh material in the regular BF2, then obviously it would be another scheme to rake in the bucks. If they DON'T do that, then that would be a reasonable circumstance to me. They're simply keeping BF2 occupied as a money-maker, that way they can get the most out of their creation until a new production needs to be developed. Understandable as well.

of the bugs that remain, i see a red name bug _maybe_ once every 20 rounds, whereas bunny hopping/dolphin diving i see every round... id rather see that fixed than the red name bug.

as for the getting pinched by unmanned vehicle or run over by bumping a moving tank, thats an easy fix... dont be a noob and run into tanks or try and jump over the hood of your car after driving it into a wall.

ive never died when exiting a vehicle unless i had like 2 bars of health and hopped out at 50 mph, dont care if that is fixed either.

i dont much care if one tank can own another tank in 1 lucky shot either, tank drivers deserve a little suprise now and again.  and tanks ramming apcs for dmg?  who cares?  if youre slow enough in your apc to get rammed into a corner you deserve it.

im hoping they do have some of these bugs fixed in the patch as well since they said that wasnt a complete list of changes, but i wont hold my breath.

you really need more time getting out of the way of your claymore?  havent blown myself up once with em.  you place it in front of you... how hard is it to not go forward?  or just run forward quickly and you can get past it easy.  engineers can pick up their mines because they have a tool to do so with.  specops doesnt have a tool.  specops is already a jack-of-all-trades do we really need to give that kit more stuff?

the color difference for the explosives of friendlies is a good idea for certain though.

other than that, the things you mentioned can be avoided with thoughful playing.  the game mechanics exploits cannot however.

by the way i must comment on something.  stop trying to sound smart by using as many big words as you can, a fair portion arent used correctly or just dont exist(was raised by an english professor).  it just makes you sound like a pompous ass.

the last 2 are nothing but opinion.  i like flashbangs in bf2 regular and the heli/jumping stuff of next patch.  those arent bugs, theyre changes to gameplay you dont agree with.
