For christmas, i bought myself an XFX Geforce 7800 GTX, 256onboard GDDR3, right?

I install it into my system, thinking, great, ill be able to play bf2 on quality above lowest...i was wrong.

2.8 Pentium 4 with HT
1024mb RAM,
160GB S/ATA HD with 33gb left,
Geforce 7800 GTX.

I've still gotta run the game on lowest settings to avoid it skipping every 2 seconds or so...Help?

Close all background programs so just BF2 is running. Make sure you have no spyware or viruses on your PC.

550W PSU, definately have got spyware or viruses, cant say im hugely fond of the idea of closing every backround program, cuz that would include my virus scan, firewall and all that kinda jazz....and im not even sure whats useful and what isnt on my processes...

To find out what is useful in your processes simply type in the process name along with the extention into google and usually the first link that comes up will tell you what it does and if you need it or not.

It's probably the spyware and viruses though. Go here for a free reliable virus scanner/remover.

Make sure to scan everything.

Next, download Ad-Aware

http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html

That should get rid of most spyware.

Finally, you might want to get Spybot S&D

http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-D … 89035.html

That will get rid of any other spyware you might have.

Hope that helps.

Did you update your video drivers? The latest (81.98) resolve lots of issues with the 7800.
