Why did they give it to LSU ? they had a chance to prove themselves in there 2nd 3rd overtime game this year and lost. They even acted like all hope was over. It should be hawaii but there strength in schedule wasn't that good. I thought it was funny that the number 2 team lost 7 consecutive games in a row. It's become a curse to be number 2. Next year around this time if a number 2 team wins a game then everyone will be like they rule. For my team http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3138460 the defensive coordinator got fired and our offensive coordinator resigned meaning a possible bull shit season next year depending on who they can get for Louisville. We had a shot this year but we lost 5 starters on defensive and I new we were going to have one of the worst seasons ever. Oh well at least Brohm should get a num. 1 pick for the NFL but I don't think he wants to go to Miami lol.

Yes.  I'm an SEC fan.

I'll consider having respect for the Big Ten on the day that they learn how to count.

i'll have more respect for the SEC when they come up and play in some of the conditions we have up here (Ohio, Minnesota,Michigan) at the end of the season.

You do realize that you included Minnesota in your list, right ... don't they play in a perfect, temperature controlled dome?  That's gotta be some harsh conditions the Big Ten plays in ...

Meh.  The lol is that the original comment is a load of crap ... let's take a look at this year's Minnesota road weather conditions:

Florida Atlantic:  Temperature: 88  • Wind: ENE @8  • Weather: Clear - 59% humidity
Indiana:  Temperature: 81  • Wind: SSW 4  • Weather: Sunny
Northwestern:  Temperature: 55  • Wind: WSW-4  • Weather: Cloudy
Michigan:  Temperature: Mid 50s  • Wind: SW 15-25 • Weather: Steady light rain
Iowa:  Temperature: 50 • Wind: SE 5-15 • Weather: Mostly Cloudy

And, the other games were in a wonderful, temperature controlled environment.

[sarcasm]  Yea, you got to be some really tough men to play in those conditions ...   [/sarcasm]

Yes, it is not as warm as SEC football, but still the weather is fine (actually, cooler weather is better football weather)

I am a graduate of U of Illinois so I'm familiar with the Big Ten ... the games are over by the end of November, and the weather doesn't really get bad until into December ...

Pac-10 only has two.  Does that mean that the Big Ten is 'far superior' over the PAC-10?

* South Carolina's "big" non-con win was 6 point victory against 2-5 North Carolina
* Florida didn't sniff a tough non-con game
* UGA beat 5-3 Oklahoma State...a team which lost to Troy
* Kentucky burst on the scene this fall with a close victory over then-#9 Louisville (which looks about as impressive as beating Nebraska now)
* Tennessee got smoked by Cal
* 'Bama, slayer of Tennessee, lost to a very average Florida State team
* Auburn lost at home to South Florida and beat K-State

...just saying there in NO strong conference this year.

The polls do not rank teams from strongest to weakest ... it is a simply a mechanism to increase interest in college football ... that's why you have every conference represented somewhere in the polls, and why the national championship does not always feature the two best teams.

(Georgia is a better team than LSU).
