QFT for Hull.  What a cesspit.

I'll give it some thought.

If Buffalo is the worst place you've ever been to you need to travel a little more.

Belfast seriously creeped me out.  Upon arriving on a ferry from Stranraer, the entire port was blockaded.  My cabby said that I should stay indoors after 5 pm due to a protest in the city.  I asked him what they were protesting about, which he said, "Their protesting because they aren't allowed to protest."
In Belfast, I felt a false sense of security the entire time.  I've never seen so many armored police cars in my life.  Every cop was carrying some sore of fully automatic rifle and they were yelling at people on street corners.  I dunno, maybe i just had crappy timing while i was there and Belfast is actually a nice city.  I dunno.

Interesting thread:

Buffalo had a good run in until about 1900, thanks to the nearby falls (electricity), but it has been in a slow decline ever since.  Compare the old Buffalo train station to the new one, and you will get the idea.

http://infiltration.org/abandoned-bct.html  (the first paragraph of this article says it all, sorry)
http://www.buffalohistoryworks.com/terminal/death/death.html
http://www.northbankfred.com/abdul34.html

Well, I couldn't find pictures of the new train station, and for good reason, imagine a glorified bus stop. It's sad. Upstate NY is really pretty (outside of Buffalo and Syracuse).  The economic might of the Northeast has moved to China, and hence the decline.

Hey, don't take it personally, my home town was in someone's bottom five. Where I live now, Chicago, is in some people's top five.  You can always move, I guess.

My top five (Chicago excluded now that I live here):

1.) Charleston, SC (pretty, and what year is it again? Shrimp'n grits and oysters, yum.)
2.) Savannah, GA (only southern city with a lot of Irish heritage, cool, and St. Pats is fun)
3.) Boston, MA (love clam chowder from the Union Oyster House)
4.) Seoul, Korea (mmmm, good Korean food)
5.) New York, NY (Only real Italian restaurants in the US,  and everyone likes to check out of the different people)

Okay, my bias: I like older cities and I like to eat...  You got some old buildings and good food, you win.

No bottom five, but I agree, Hilton Head really sucks.  If you do a little research on it, you find out that the people who developed the SC, GA coastal barrier islands basically destroyed a unique African-Amercian subculture that has roots to dating back to the first slaves brought to the Americas.

http://www.npr.org/about/press/000828.gullah.html

I'm relatively old, and I can remember when there were few hotels on these islands.  The sea islands used to be beautiful and peaceful, but, alas, no more.  Places always change.

Yeah. All of Canada rocks and the U.S. sucks.

Yeah... Everyone knows Canada is considered the world's last remaining superpower.

Canadian healthcare services are known worldwide.

The hottest new life-saving pharmaceuticals are being developed in Canada.

Canada rocks at the Olympics.

When other countries are desperate for help they always call on Canada.

Canada brought down the Eastern Block and Communism.

I remember when Canada stopped the Nazis in WWII.

Those Canadian companies like GE, Microsoft, IBM, Sears, WalMart and Motorola have led the way.

Thank God for Canada or the Cold War might have gone the wrong way and we might all be speaking Russian.

Canadian teams have looked great in the LAST 13 NHL Stanley Cup Finals.

You can't beat the beaches in Canada.

The Canadian Stock Exchange is a world standard bearer.

If you're a small country looking to peg your currency to the stable currency of a world leader, the Canadian dollar is the way to go.

When the Canadian Prime Minister speaks, the world listens.

You are SO right. America sucks. Go Canada.

Um, the first guy did a pretty good job of looking foolish, but you did even "better."

Good work, thats what you went to school for. I love how your outlook glosses over basically every aspect of history, and despite your intended sarcasm, many of your statements are still incorrect.
