I have recently started played as a commander one hell of a lot, but don't seem to be getting anywhere! I can never get 40 points and desperately trying to get 50.

Does anyone know how commander points are awarded?

I put a UAV and it highlighted lots of enemy and I got 0 points for it, but in the same match I UAVed another base and got 4 points for highlighting one person? Any tips for gaining commander points?

try searching next time this thread has been made before. the commanders score (before 2x) is the average of his team's score.

So if your team was this

30
20
60
40

the average is 37.5 so whether the game rounds up or down your commander score would be 37 or 38 with that team of four. You do not get points for using arti assets, killing normally, ect (they get record to your stats, but no in round points for it.) So just go command on a big 64 player server even if your team only does half ass you should easily be able to get 50 command points.

If your playing a full 64 player server and your team has  a collective score of 1600 you will get 50 command points.(sounds like a lot but 16 or so of our players will have 75 or more points usually on a good 64 server and the other sixteen will have between 20-50 putting you will over what you need for 50 command points.

i dont know the exact way they are calculated but i belive its a mean score of your team,i think its sumthing like, for every 3 points your team get you get 1,best tip is to play to keep your team alive and informed and supplied.talk to squad leaders and let them know if a certain route is free or dangerous, which flag needs defending and which one is best to cap.

It's worked out by a formula of how well your team plays I think. And something to do with how many people you resupply with boxes... Well I don't play commander much, I prefere to be given orders. Thats why I usually ask the commander where to go if i'm squad leader.

Oooooooooooooooooooook, just tried out that and I can NEVER get about 30! Maybe the servers I go on are full of n00bs.

I can easily get about 30+. Maybe 50 if i'm lucky. This is before 2x. Plus, i'm a bit annoyed because the commander usually always steals my gold star but, nah, he deserved it.

Actually, formula for commander points is something like:

8 people on your team

One gets 4 kills (8 points)

8 points divided by # of people on your team = 1

1 Point Awarded to Commander

So, each point earned by a person on your team is divided by the number of people on your team and added to the commander's score. The fraction is invisible during the game, but is still there (hence why you can still get an odd number of points after 2x).

OK let me tell you How to get Points
each time ur team caps a flag u get points
When ur teams uses crates to heal or resupply you get points
YOu get points or kIlls awarded at the end of play
> VIOP wth ur squad leaders for where flags are to be capped
Watch where a tank is low on health and drop a crate next to him
You just have to watch out more
Best round for commander is 132 on wake or 66 x2 foir round score

Oooooooooooook. Thanks a lot guys, that clears up a hell of a lot of things, if I get 50 commander points I can get Staff Officer Ribbon, Basic Command Badge, Veteran Command Badge and Distinguished Service Ribbon!

Though still working on Veteran Explosives Ordinance, 23 kills with C4 is impossible!

Since your score is the team average score, you want the players in your team to get as much score as possible. Therefore, you want the round to last as long as possible. Try to make it so that you win with only a few tickets margin (you will not gain anything by winning with 200 tickets left). If your team is winning, keep your hands off the artillery and let your team do the work. I'd say that's the most important tip: dont use the arty!

64 player Fushe Pass with 10-16 players will create a lot of flag capping and seldom killing which wll keep the game going for well over an hour with points in the hundreds.

Yes the higher the mapsize/nofplayers ratio is the longer the round will last. So avoid 32-sized map with 40 players.

However be aware that maps where one of the teams start with fewer spawns than the other (eg Strike at Karkand), that team (eg US in Karkand) will benefit from it.

You find it by testing it yourself and confirming the results with your own eyes. There are so many different claims of how commanders get their points but I tested it myself to get the true answer. There is nothing a commander can do to directly earn a point.

I think EA and Dice SERIOUSLY need to tweak the Commander Points, they sometimes get hundreds of points while other get none!
Same as the War College Ribbon, amazingly hard.
Also the medals where you need 4500 hours. How the hell is going to get that without stat padding or being paid to play games?
